Claims (12)
1. A method of selectively flushing a W.C. pan comprising the steps of collecting human urine with its flushing liquid in a hol ,ing tank through an outlet pipe incorporating bypass valve means having an angularly located drain tube therein, said bypass valve being adapted to open or close the outlet pipe and in the closed position of the valve allow urine to pass through the drain tube to the holding tank, and recycling the collected urine and its flushing liquid from said holding tank by pressure means to the toilet flushing cistern of the W.C. pan for subsequent flushing.
2. A method according to Claim 1, wherein said bypass valve means comprises a flap valve in said outlet pipe operable by hand, foot or sensor means so as to allow passage of solids in the open position of the valve in the outlet pipe from the W.C. pan directly to a sewer system or septic tank and bypassing the drain tube outlet to the holding tank, said sensor means being operable to detect the presence of solids in the pan. 25
3. A method according to Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein said pressure means comprises a pump or air pressure i displacement means.
4. A method according to any one of the preceding claims, 30 wherein waste water from wash basins, baths, showers or other washing facilities and urine from a urinal is passed to the holding tank to mix with the collected 00 urine. 0
5. A method according to Claim 4, wherein the collected urine and waste <ater is filtered before or after passage to or from the holding tank. 960902crnssp.090,rendcap,12 I I 13
6. A W.C. pan system having an outlet pipe incorporating bypass valve means selectively operable to open or close the outlet pipe, said outlet pipe having an aperture in the wall thereof through which, in the closed position of the bypass valve in the outlet pipe, a drain tube in the bypass valve is connected to a holding tank for collecting humar urine through said drain tube for subsequent use of the collected urine and its flushing liquid in the toilet cistern of the W.C. pan.
7. A W.C. pan system according to Claim 6, wherein in the open position of the bypass valve means, there is direct passage of solids through the outlet pipe to a sewer system or septic tank.
8. A W.C. pan system according to Claim 6 or Claim 7, wherein the bypass valve means comprises a flap valve operable from outside the system by hand, foot or sensor means, said sensor being operable to detect the presence of solids in the W.C. pan.
9. A W.C. pan system according to any one of Claims 6 to 8 and including waste water connections to said 25 holding tank from wash basins, baths, showers and other washing facilities and to urinals.
10. A W.C. pan system according to any one of Claims 6 to 9 and including pump or air pressure displacement 30 means to transfer liquid from the holding tank to the cistern of the W.C. pan.
11. A method of selectively flushing a W.C. pan substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings. 960927,cmsspe.090,read.cap,13 -I SI -14-
12. A W.C. pan system substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Dated this 27th day of September, 1996 SANDERCOCK COWIE PATENT ATTORNEYS FOR JACK MAURICE READ 960927,cmsspe.9O rmdzap,14 15 ABSTRACT The present invention provides:- a method of selectively flushing a W.C. pan comprising the steps of collecting human urine with its flushing liquid in a holding tank through an outlet pipe incorporating bypass valve means having an angularly located drain tube therein, said bypass valve being adapted to open or close the outlet pipe and in the closed position of the valve allow urine to pass through the drain tube to the holding tank, and recycling the collected urine and its flushing liquid from said holding tank by pressure means to the toilet flushing cistern of the W.C. pan for subsequent flushing. The present invention also provides:- a W.C. pan system having an outlet pipe incorporating bypass valve means selectively operable to open or close the outlet pipe, said outlet pipe having an aperture in the wall thereof through which, in the closed position of the bypass valve in the outlet pipe, a drain tube in the bypass valve is connected to a holding tank for collecting human urine through said drain tube for subsequent use of the o 25 collected urine and its flushing liquid in the toilet cistern of the W.C. pan. *p 6* a p p. 960904,cmsspe.090read.cap,15 L
