COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT Invention Title: C I The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me:e! -2a- Bowling Practice Device This invention will help improve bowling skills.
Many people especially children like to practice bowling on their own but after missing the wicket lots of times tire of chasing the ball. Children also like to practice against the wall of the house or the fence which drive some parents mad.
These problems are overcome with the Bowling Practice Device comprising a mat with cricket stumps made of 0 hook material such as sold under the name of Velcro) o attached to grip the ball and eyelets with cords which can be tied to posts, trees or any suitable structures available.
ooeuo2 The Bowling Practice Device consists of a mat made e• 15 from Polythene, Canvas or such a material that would withstand constant pounding with a ball. It should be of a size able to contain the ball from going straight past if the stumps are missed. The size of the mat I have used is 120cm x 183cm with 6 eyelets, 3 for each 120cm side. The eyelets being of a size to take 3mm diameter cord, the cord should be nylon or of a suitable material to hold the mat in place and be long x 3mm diameter for each eyelet or length to suit XL various applications. The mat may have turn ins to II-I P -3aaccept posts as well as eyelets in the event that there is not a suitable place to tie the mat.
The most important part of the Bowling Practice Device is the cricket stumps which are made from hook material (such as the spiky side sold under the name of Velcro). The bottom centre of the cricket stumps is placed in the centre of the 183cm side of the mat being at the bottom part. The cricket stumps are 24cm wide x 71cm high and are made up of tnree hook stumps (such as the spiky side sold under the name of Velcro) 2.1/2cm wide x 68.1/2cm high and two hook stumps (such as the spiky side sold under the name of Velcro) wide x 68.1/2cm high which is a similar colour to the t o mat and placed between the hook stumps No's 2,3 and 15 3,4. The final hook piece of material 2.1/2cm wide x 24cm long is located across the top of the stumps and then sewn in place on the mat.
O S The ball used must be a grip type ball and be the construction of that of a tennis ball with the outer 20 cover made from material (such as the loop side sold under the name of Velcro).
Refering to Fig. 1 It can be seen that the Bsiling Practice Device according to this invention comprises a mat 1 with narrow turned in edges 8 and 9 and wider turned in edges 10 and 11 with eyelets 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 placed at top, centre and bottom of edges c c -4aand 11 respectively. The cricket stumps comprises six pieces of hook material (such as sold under the name of Velcro) 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, pieces 6 and 7 being wider and of a similar colour to the mat 1 are placed between 2 and 3, 3 and 4 respectively, piece is placed across the tops of 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. Cords 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 are threaded through eyelets 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 respectively and tied in place.
