Abstract
The input cable terminals are fixed onto comb-shaped fixing members by means of a screw socket. The fixing member (7) consists of grounded blank sheet metal. This makes it possible to easily and reliably secure the cables (5) to the contact block (2) and to connect them to the system ground.
Description
GR 97 P 1322 Description Device for fixing cable ends to a distributor for a telecommunications system The invention relates to a device for fixing at least one cable end to a distributor for a telecommunications system, the distributor having at least one contact block with contact components stacked on one another for connecting and linking incoming and outgoing lines.
Such a device has been disclosed in DE 27 13 701 Cl, for example. According to this document, the back of the contact block, i.e. in the region of the cable supply line, is provided with a sorting element which has sorting rails projecting on both sides of the contact component, said sorting rails being provided with recesses for holding the incoming cables or the outgoing jumper conductors. So as not to damage and short-circuit the lines that are fed through, the sorting rails are usually provided with insulating surfaces or are made from plastic.
Modern telecommunications technology increasingly makes use of lines which have higher contact frequencies and are provided with a shielding sheath.
The invention is based on the object of fixing such lines easily in the immediate vicinity of the contact components and of connecting their shielding sheaths to ground. The invention achieves this object in accordance with claim 1.
The use of the comb-like fixing parts makes it possible to fix the incoming cables to the contact block easily and to connect the cable shield to ground.
The comb-like fixing part can be attached to the contact block GR 97 P 1322 2 in a similar way to the sorting rail. This makes it possible to provide the contact blocks with the suitable comb-like fixing parts without changing the design to any great extent. The use of the contact sleeves makes good contact with the shielding sheath of the cable possible. The contact sleeves can be suitably locked, for example, to the fixing part, and can thus be connected to ground.
Advantageous developments of the invention are characterized in claims 2 to 4.
The screw sleeves according to claim 2 can be used to screw the contact sleeves easily to the fixing part and have it make reliable contact with them.
The development according to claim 3 makes it possible to combine different types of jumper combs or fixing parts as required without having to make special design changes for this purpose. It is also possible to combine fixing parts and jumper combs on one side as required.
The development according to claim 4 makes it possible to isolate the system ground from the rack ground so as thus to produce a more precise defined ground reference.
The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the drawing.
Figure 1 shows a front view of a distributor block with contact components stacked one on top of the other, Figure 2 shows a plan view of the distributor block according to claim 1.
Figures 1 and 2 show plate-shaped contact components 1 arranged stacked one on top of the other in a contact block 2 of a distributor (not shown in more detail) in a telecommunications system, two respective contact components having GR 97 P 1322 3 wire guidance elements 3 arranged between them through which incoming and outgoing lines 4 are fed from the back, through the interior of the contact block, to the front. In this area, the contact components 1 have connection elements 12 which are designed as insulation-piercing contacts and to which the ends of the lines 4 are connected.
On the left-hand side of the diagram, the incoming lines 4 are combined into cables 5. The outgoing lines 4 on the right-hand side of the diagram are designed as individual jumper lines. The ends of the shielded cables 5 are screwed to a comb-like fixing part 7 by means of a screw sleeve 6. The metal screw sleeves 6 are designed such that the cable shield can make contact with them. The fixing part 7 comprises a blank grounded metal sheet which is in contact with the screw sleeve 6. It is provided with rounded indentations 8 into which the screw sleeves 6 are inserted. Web-like cheeks 9 which hold the screw sleeves 6 are arranged between the indentations 8.
That side of the contact block 2 which is opposite the fixing part 7 has a sorting rail arranged on it which is designed as a jumper comb and guides the outgoing lines 4.
The sorting rail 10 and the elongate fixing part 7 are screwed separately to a support 11 for the contact components 1. This makes it possible to combine sorting rails 10 and fixing parts 7 as required in a different configuration on the contact block 2.
Claims (4)
1. A device for fixing at least one cable end to a distributor for a telecommunications system, the distributor having at least one contact block with contact components stacked on one another for connecting and linking incoming and outgoing electrical lines, the contact components being provided with front connection elements for the lines, and at least one comb-like fixing part for cables containing the incoming lines being provided in the region of one cable supply line to the contact block, characterized in that the grounded fixing part has a metal surface at least in one comb region, and in that contact sleeves are provided for the lines combined in shielded cables, it being possible for said contact sleeves to be inserted into slot-like indentations in the fixing part and to be attached to cheeks of the fixing part that are arranged between the indentations.
2. The device as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the contact sleeves are designed as screw sleeves which can be screwed directly to the fixing part.
3. The device as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a separate jumper comb is provided for the outgoing lines, said jumper comb being attached to a support for the contact components, and in that the fixing part and the jumper comb comprises separate parts which are connected to the support in an easily assembled manner.
4. The device as claimed in claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the fixing part is electrically insulated from the support. A device for fixing at least one cable end to a distributor for a telecommunications system, said device being substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
