Lane 7 Hsien Mon Sheng Lin Spruson Ferguson, Patent Attorneys Level 33 St Martins Tower, 31 Market Street Sydney, New South Wales, 2000, Australia Bubble Toy with Extended and Enlarged Bubble Blowing Coil Sis a full description of this invention, including the ng it known to me/us:- 5845 Bubble Toy With Extended and Enlarged Bubble Blowing Coil Technical Field The present invention relates to a bubble blowing toy wherein the bubble blowing coil has been extended and enlarged for generating bubbles readily and conveniently.
Background of the Invention As shown in Figure 1, a conventional bubble toy generally comprises a solution container 1' and a bubble blower The solution container 1' is provided with an 1: o opening 11' and the bubble blower 2' includes a handle 21', a connecting stem 211' and a coil 22' wherein the solution can attach thereon. Normally, in order to prevent the solution contained within the solution container 1' from leaking and for aesthetic reasons, it is preferable to have a small opening 11'. Consequently, the coil 22' shall also be reduced in its size to suit the opening 11'. In light of this, only a small bubble can be generated. On the other hand, only when the coil 22' is completely withdrawn from the solution container can a bubble be generated on blowing an air flow toward the coil 22' which has been immersed with solution. The fun is comparatively less.
Object of the Invention oooo o :It is the object of the present invention to overcome or substantially ameliorate at o 20 least one of the above disadvantages.
Summary of the Invention According to the present invention there is provided a bubble blowing toy comprising: a container for containing a bubble producing solution, the container including a threaded neck having an inner diameter; a bubble blower for picking up the bubble producing solution and blowing same into bubbles by a user, the bubble blower including a stem having a pair of opposite ends, a handle at one end of the stem and S" a main bubble blowing coil at the other end of the stem, the handle [R:LIB]02777.doc:AER being in the form of a screw cap for threaded attachment to the threaded neck of the container; the main bubble blowing coil being of a hollow kite-shaped shape and formed of flexible material to permit the coil to deform for insertion through the threaded neck of the container, the coil including a pair of top sides and a pair of bottom sides, each top side including a first end and a second end, the first ends of the top sides being connected to the stem and defining a top angle therebetween, the pair of bottom sides each including a first end and a second end, the first ends of the bottom sides being respectively connected to the second ends of the top sides to define a pair of side angles therebetween, the distance between the side angles being greater than the inner diameter of the threaded neck, the second ends of the bottom sides being connected to define a bottom angle therebetween, and the top angle being larger than the bottom Is angle.
o•i" Preferably, the bubble blowing toy further includes an auxiliary bubble blowing coil of hollow kite-shaped shape and formed of flexible material to permit the auxiliary bubble blowing coil to deform for insertion into the threaded neck of the container, the auxiliary bubble blowing coil including a pair of top sides, each top side including a first 20 end and a second end, the first ends of the top sides being connected together to form a top angle connected to the bottom angle of the main bubble blowing coil, and a pair of ooo bottom sides, each bottom side having a first end and a second end, the second ends of the top sides being connected to the first ends of the bottom sides to form a pair of side angles therebetween, and the second ends of the bottom sides being connected to form a bottom angle therebetween, and the top sides being shorter than the bottom sides.
When the coils are kite-shaped in the manner described above, only a small part withdrawn from the solution container need be used to generate bubbles. In light of this, the solution will not drop onto the cloth from the user. Furthermore, when the coils are extended, a considerably large bubble can be generated easily. As a result, the bubbles can be readily generated by waving the coils. There are a plurality of shapes and designs which can be incorporated on the solution container, for example, a shape of a sword and pen can be used. By these variations, a lot of fun can therefore be generated.
Furthermore, in a given opening of small diameter, a considerably large bubble can be generated. The leakage of solution can therefore be reduced or eliminated.
\LIBT]02777.doc:AER Besides, a small diameter of opening will not bring a negative influence to the design of the solution container.
Also, an inner coil may further be included to generate a bubble having a bubble therein. The coils can also be partitioned such that a plurality of bubbles interconnected in series are generated.
Brief Description of the Drawings A preferred form of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein: Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a conventional bubble toy wherein the bubble blowing coil has been separated from the solution container; Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of a first embodiment of a bubble toy wherein 1 the bubble blowing coil has been separated from the solution container; Figure 3 is a schematic illustration of the bubble toy shown in Figure 2 wherein the bubble blowing coil is inserted into the opening of the solution container; Figure 4 is a cross sectional view of the bubble toy shown in Figure 2; o• Figure 5 is a partial cross sectional view of the bubble toy of Figure 2 wherein the bubble blowing coil is to be removed from the solution container; Figure 6 is a partial cross sectional view of the bubble toy shown in Figure 4 showing the bubble blowing coil removed from the solution container after the bubble blowing coils have been immersed with solution; Figure 7 is a partial cross sectional view of a second embodiment of the bubble toy wherein the bubble blowing coils are separated from the solution container; and [R IBT02777.doc:AER [R:\LIBTT]O2777.doc:AER Figure 8 is a partial cross sectional view of a Third embodiment of the bubble top wherein the bubble blowing coils is separated from the solution container; and Brief Description of Numerals 1, 1' 11, 11' 2,2' S 21,21' 211 ,211' C C 22, 22' 221 222 S 223 224 0.6e 225 226 0 solution container 227 opening 228 bubble blower 23 handle 231 connecting stem 232 bubble blowing coil 24 connecting portion 3 inserting portion 4 upper comer 5 lower corer 6 widest portion 7 teeth for attaching solution 8 connecting stem inner blowing coil extended blowing coil connecting portion inserting portion partitioning rod solution film small bubble big bubble bubble having bubble bubbles interconnected Detailed Description of Preferred Embodiments Referring to Figures 2 to 8 the bubble toy generally comprises a solution container 1 and a bubble blower 2. The solution container 1 is provided with an opening 11 and filled with solution 3 therein. The bubble blower 2 includes a handle 21, a connecting stem 211, and a bubble blowing coil 22. The bubble blowing coil 22 is further included with a teeth portion 226 in the inner rim portion.
The main difference between the present invention and the conventional bubble toy is the bubble blowing coil 22 is extended and enrlarged closing ioop. By this configuration, the bubble top made according to the present invention can be concluded with the following features.
Referring to Figure the blowing coil 22 can be designed to have a diamond shape having an opening therein. In order to increase a width of the blowing coil 22 to make a large bubble 6 while the opening 11 of the solution container 1 is remained in small diameter, the blowing coil 22 is designed to have the follow"ig S features. As the opening 11 is remained with small diameter, the leakage from the opening 11 of the container 1 and the negative influence to the design of the container 1 can be therefore eliminated.
59*55As shown in Figures 2 and 3v the blowing coil 22 is designed to have a diamond shape having an opening therein and it can be divided into a V-shape conting portion 221 and a V-shape inserting portion 222. The connecting portion 221 is connected to the conrnecting stem 211 at one end and is connected with the inserting portion 222 at the other end. The connection between the ~3:coninecting portion 221 and the inserting portion 222 defines the widest portion 225 S 1) of the blowing coil 22 which is considerably larger than the inner diameter of the opening 11 of the solution container 1. As the blowing coil 22 can be readily compressed inward, the blowing coil 22 can be readily passed through the opening 11 of the solution container 1. In light of this, the blowing coil 22 can be readily inserted into the container 1 for receiving solution 3 a nd be withdrawn therefrom to generate bubbles. By this provision,- the opening 11 of the container 1 can be kept in a small size while the blowing coil 22 can generate large bubble 6.
However,. in order to made the blowing coil 22 be readily and resiliently deformed and guided into the opening 11, the connecting portion 221 is provided with an upper comer 223 and the inserting portion 222 is provided with a lower comer 224 such that length of sides of the connecting portion 221 is smaller than the sides of the inserting portion 222.
Referring to Figures 3 and 4, when the blowing coil 22 is inserted into the opening 11 of the container 1, by the provision of the lower comer 224 and the inserting portion 222 and the resilient sides, the widest portion 225 can be readily compressed inward such that the sides of the connecting portion 221 is also narrowed to pass through the opening 11 of the container 1.
Referring to Figures 5 and 6, when the blowing coil 22 is received with solution 3, the blowing coil 22 can be readily pulled out from the container 1 as the sides of the connecting portion 221 is firstly compressed such that the widest portion 225 is compressed inward to pass over the opening 11 of the container 1. When the blowing coil 22 is completely withdrawn, a film 4 is formed on the teeth 226 of the blowing coil 22. In this case, by blowing or waving the blowing coil 22, a large bubble or bubbles can be therefore generated. Of course, when part of the blowing coil 22 is withdrawn from the opening 11 of the container 1, it can be used to generate bubbles. In this case, droplet of the solution will not drop onto the cloth or floor.
Referring to Figure 7, the blowing coil 22 is provided with a connecting stem o 227 and a inner blowing coil 228 to generate a bubble 7 having bubble therein. In this case, the small bubble 7 generated by the inner coil 228 will be enclosed by the large bubble 6 generated by the outer blowing coil 22.
Referring to Figure 8 the blowing coil 22 can be formed by connecting two loop of coils in serial. As shown in Figure 8, the blowing coil 22 is directly connected with an extended blowing coil 23 in the lower end portion to generate more and more bubbles. The extended blowing coil 23 is provided with a -7connecting portion 231 and an inserting portion 232. The top of the connecting portion 231 is interconnected to the inserting portion 222 of the blowing coil 22.
Of course, a second extended blowing coil 23 can be again attached to the lower end portion of the extended blowing coil 23.
