The interlock mechanism of claim 1 further comprising a flip pivotally connected to an outer side of the housing, wherein the flip is configured to enclose a handle cavity containing an operating handle of a switching mechanism, wherein the flip has a flip catch insertable into an inner side of the housing to place the flip in a locked position, wherein the interlock mechanism is configured to engage the flip catch when the switching button is actuated from the first manual position or the second manual position to the automatic position, the slider moving the lever member to the locked position.

The interlock mechanism of claim 1 further comprising a return spring sandwiched between the housing interior side and the lever member, wherein the return spring is configured to bias the lever member back to the unlocked position when the switch button is in the first manual position or the second manual position.

The interlock mechanism of claim 2 wherein said slide is configured as a plate disposed against an inner side of the housing, wherein a lower portion of said slide is provided with a slot in operative engagement with said lever, wherein said slot is designed to have a vertical length shorter than a stroke length of said toggle button from a second manual position to said automatic position.
5. The interlock mechanism of claim 4 wherein the lever member is configured to be pivotally mounted to the inner side of the housing via a limit screw that serves as a pivot point, wherein the first and second ends are offset from each other by approximately 90 degrees about their pivot points.
6. The interlock of claim 5 wherein said first end of said lever member is configured with a boss that extends into said slot, wherein said slider lifts said boss to rotate said lever member clockwise to its locked position when said shift button is actuated vertically to said automatic position.

The interlock mechanism of claim 5 wherein said lever member further comprises a third end projecting outwardly from said second end, wherein said third end is positioned adjacent said flip-cap catch such that upon clockwise rotation of said lever member to its locked position, said third end snaps into said flip-cap catch to place the flip in its locked position.
8. An automatic transfer switch, comprising:
the switching switch comprises a switching switch base provided with two switching mechanisms, wherein each switching mechanism can drive a set of contact mechanism to switch on and switch off;
