Description

Ein bevorzugtes wenn auch keineswegs ausschließliches Anwendungsgebiet der Erfindung sind wasser- und luftdicht imprägnierte Stoffe für Schlauchboote, Rettungsinseln und andere aufblasbare Gegenstände. Die besondere Problematik besteht hierbei in der allgemein gültigen Forderung nach möglichst hoher Leistung bzw. Tragfähigkeit bei möglichst niedrigem Gewicht und Zusammenfaltbarkeit auf kleinste Verpackungsmaße. Den in erster Linie maßgeblichen Festigkeitsanforde- *o rungen kann zwar mit der Wahl geeigneter hochfester Garne zum Herstellen der Gewebe entsprochen werden; die Berücksichtigung der hochgeschraubten Sicherheitsvorschriften zwingt aber häufig zu Kompromißlösungen mit Zugeständnissen an nachteilige Einflußgrößen verschiedenster Art. Da die benötigten Garne stets nur in abgestuften Titer-Numerierungen erhältlich sind, kann das Gewebe nach Typ und Fadendichte mit der vorgegebenen Mindestfestigkeit unter gebührender Berücksichtigung der Verarbeitbar- so keit, Knitteranfälligkeit und Abriebbeständigkeit und auch der Gebrauchstüchtigkeit der fertigen Artikel nicht immer passend oder wenigstens angenähert ausgelegt werden. Es kommt dann unausweichlich zur Wahl eines festigkeitsmäßig überdimensionierten Gewebes, das einmal höhere Kosten verursacht und zum anderen auch die Eigenschaften der fertigen Artikel, Gewicht, Steifigkeit, Faltbarkeit u. dgl. unter Umständen erheblich beeinträchtigi. Diesem Dilemma kann auch nicht z.
