Description

The present invention relates to drying equipment according to the preamble of Claim 1
The thermal inertia of these systems must lead to taking measures to avoid the risk of fire.

Fires can be caused by two sets of causes.

First of all, when the paper or dry material comes into contact with the infrared system, flames appear. This can happen at any time, mainly when there is broken paper and when pieces of paper come off the running surface.

In addition, there is also a risk of fire when the sheet stops under the infrared.

In this case, there is therefore a fire in the paper since the temperature is high and we are in the presence of oxygen.

Currently, radiant burners are equipped with cells that detect the change in energy caused by the appearance of a flame and trigger a water spray system. The response time of such a system is approximately 0.2 seconds.

However, such a response time corresponds to very long distances on fast machines where the running speed is greater than 600 meters per minute. This results in a significant loss of efficiency.

In addition, the spraying of water causes pollution of the paper since drops of water fall on the paper after placement.

According to the prior art, there are prevention systems, as described in document FR-2,532,733, but these systems are always external to the battery of radiant burners. These are generally ramps installed on the outside of one of the hoods about ten centimeters from the outer wall thereof.

This type of system must be assembled and disassembled independently of the battery of radiant burners. But above all and this is its major drawback, given the relatively small dimension between the hood and the material to be dried, there is a poor passage of steam and water from the hood and systematically a part steam comes under pressure to abut on the hood where it condenses and this results in a drop of water drops on the paper or the material to be dried.

This principle of fire prevention therefore poses major efficiency problems which the system according to the invention proposes to solve.

To do this, the present invention relates to a drying equipment comprising a battery of radiant burners for drying a sheet material moving past a radiant surface formed by the radiant burners, a suction hood, a blowing hood and a spraying system. for emitting a vapor flow to prevent a fire, characterized in that the extractor hood and the supply hood are arranged on either side of the battery of radiant burners in the direction of travel of the sheet material to delimit a volume between the radiant surface, the surface of the sheet material to be dried and the hoods, and that the spraying system is consisting of a spray boom arranged to emit, during a cycle of spraying, the flow of vapor directly into said volume in response to a detection of the sheet material passing through to prevent a fire.

The main advantages of such a device are as follows.

Unlike water, the vapor is not polluting and does not risk damaging the paper or other material that runs and has to be dried.

Indeed, the ramps being integrated, no drop falls on the paper.

In addition, the integration of the steam ramps in the infrared system makes it possible to concentrate a jet of steam where it is needed, namely between the radiant plates and the surface to be treated.

The required flow rates are lower than the flow rates relating to the devices of the prior art with regard to water.

In addition, the fact of spraying water into the vapor lowers the temperature thereof which improves the efficiency and the safety of the personnel.

According to a preferred arrangement, the sprayer boom is arranged in the lower part of the hood of the suction hood where the temperature is above 130 ° C. Thus, in the presence of water in the vapor, it is systematically vaporized.

  • La figure 2 est un schéma relatif à la régulation de la vapeur;
The invention is set out below in more detail with the aid of drawings representing only one embodiment.
  • Figure 1 is a front view of a radiant burner of the closed type and equipped in accordance with the invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a diagram relating to the regulation of steam;
  • Figure 3 is a graph showing the cycle of a spraying of the steam / water mixture.

The supply of combustion air and fresh air is via the central duct 4 which has lower orifices intended for evacuation fresh air and the air / gas mixture takes place in the mixers 5 supplying the active parts 6 of the radiant burner.

The characteristic of this device is to include a vapor spraying ramp 7 integrated in the cover of the radiant burner and arranged in the case shown in a lower part of the suction hood 2.

La vapeur pulvérisée par la rampe 7 est schématisée en 8 sur la figure 1.The vapor sprayed by the ramp 7 is shown diagrammatically at 8 in FIG. 1.

If the scrolling of the surface to be dried stops, the ramps 16 are automatically activated.

As can be understood in Figure 3, this stoppage can be caused by a breakage of the paper and first of all the ramp sends a flow of vapor which is mixed, a few seconds later, a certain amount of water.

As can be seen in this graph in Figure 3, the steam is sent into the ramp as soon as the paper or material to be dried is broken. A few seconds later, water is injected into the steam for safety and efficiency reasons. In fact, the vapor being too dry, its temperature is thus reduced by increasing its humidity. It is understood that the water injected into the vapor instantly turns into vapor.

As can also be seen in this graph, the water supply is stopped before the end of the steam injection. This avoids any possible formation of water droplets.

Thanks to this prevention system, fire is prevented by removing the air included in the volume delimited by the infrared surfaces 6, the paper or other surface to be dried and the hoods since this space is immediately filled with steam.

Consequently, at each stop, an automatic control system sends into a set of spray bars 7, a vapor flow to which water is added; preferably, the steam corresponds for 1 kg to 1.6 m³ of steam at atmospheric pressure.

The cycle is fully automated by automated management. Steam, unlike water, does not pollute the surface of the paper. As can be seen in Figure 3, the automatic cycle is 15 seconds, but there is also a manual push button that keeps the system running if necessary.

The steam control circuit and its mixture with water is shown in Figure 2. Air is sent to a pressure of about 6 bars in the steam which is at a minimum pressure of 3 bars. This pressurized steam passes through a desuperheating pipe 10 where the water circuit also terminates under a pressure of approximately 5 bars. The steam / water mixture can then be sent to the spray bars 7.
