- Installation of the moving point (1) in the cradle (2) of a crossing frog incorporated in long welded rails, said installation allowing the transmission of expansion stresses from the normal track rails to said cradle while absorbing the stresses due to the rolling of the vehicles, said cradle (2) being composed of two elements, that is a monobloc element (2') and an element (2") consisting of two rails (3 and 4) and connected to the monobloc element (2') by welding or by any other type of connection, the joint between the moving point (1) and the element (2") of the cradle formed by two rails (3 and 4) being produced by an essentially mechanical connection by means of bolts (7), characterized in that a significant proportion of the tensile or compressive load created by the long welded rails is transmitted by friction of cross members (5 and 6) integral with the moving point (1) and the element (2") of the cradle formed by the two rails (3 and 4) and resting on the base of the core of the rails and in that the residual stress is absorbed by split pins (11 and 12) made of spring steel traversing the rails (3 and 4), the moving point (1) and the cross members (5 and 6) via perforations of which the diameters are barely smaller than those of said pins (11 and 12) allowing extremely limited longitudinal displacements of the rails (3 and 4) relative to the crossing frog and, furthermore, absorption of the longitudinal shearing forces, these split pins (11 and 12) cooperating with high strength bolts (7 and 8) tightened on the cross members (5 and 6), the rails (3 and 4) and the moving point (1) such that the connecting bolts are stressed only by tension.
- Installation according to claim 1, characterized in that the cross members (5 and 6) are fixed, on the one hand, to the moving point (1) by means of high strength bolts (7) and, on the other hand, to the rails (3 and 4) of the element (2") of the cradle (2) by means of high strength bolts (8).
- Installation according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the cross members (5 and 6) each have the form of a pair of profiles (5', 5" and 6', 6") resting on the base of the core of the rails and vacating fishing surfaces in order to grip the high strength bolts allowing a significant core-to-core frictional force to be obtained, the profiles (5', 5" and 6', 6") of each pair being connected to one another respectively by means of bars (9 and 10).
- Installation according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the split pins (11 and 12) which cooperate with the profiles (5', 5" and 6', 6") of the cross members (5 and 6) and with the high strength bolts (7 and 8) are made of spring steel and act, on the one hand, as a sleeve for said bolts (7 and 8) of which the heads (8') rest by means of parts (13) on the external faces of the rails (3 and 4) and of which the nuts (7" and 8") as well as the heads (7') of the bolts (7) rest on the profiles (5', 5" and 6', 6") of the cross members (5 and 6) by means of washers (14) and, on the other hand, as shearing part to the longitudinal forces by taking up longitudinal stresses when friction is cancelled, by allowing extremely limited longitudinal displacements of the rails (3 and 4) relative to the cross frog and, furthermore, absorption of longitudinal shearing forces.
- Installation according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that it is applied to a moving point frog of which the point (1) and the rails (3 and 4) are of different heights.
- Installation according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that it is applied to constructions of which the point (1) and/or the rails (3 and 4) are produced as rail profiles of asymmetrical cross section.
- Process for producing the installation according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that it comprises a provisional phase of assembly of the various elements of a moving point (1) and a crossing frog cradle (2) involving fixing constituent profiles (5" and 6") of cross members (5 and 6) on a point (1), a constituent profile (5') of the cross member (5) on a rail (3) of a cradle element and a constituent profile (6') of the cross member (6) on a rail (4) of said cradle element, positioning the point (1) and the rails (3 and 4) with precision, presenting bars (9 and 10) and joining them respectively to the profiles (5, 5" and 6', 6") by weld points, then depositing the cross members (5, 6) while spreading the rails (3 and 4) and finally definitively welding the bars (9 and 10) and, on the other hand, a definitive phase of positioning of removable mechanical connecting means involving positioning split pins (11 and 12) made of spring steel, placing the cross members (5 and 6) and fixing them by means of high strength bolts (7 and 8), the pins (11 and 12) traversing the rails (3 and 4), the moving point (1) and the cross members (5 and 6).
