Abstract

Press section for a machine for producing tissue webs (10) comprises a shoe press unit (14) and a counter-roller (16). The unit is made up of two press shoes (20, 20')and a flexible, liquid-impermeable belt (22) which passes over them. These have different lengths (l. l') , measured around the circumference of the unit, and can be moved from a non-working position (R) to a press position (P) where they are in contact with the counter-roller.
