Description

The invention relates to a bundle pack for cigarettes - cigarette rod - for a group of cigarette packs arranged in rows, which is surrounded by a bundle blank of thin cardboard according to the preamble of claim 1.

Bundle packs for cigarettes, so-called cigarette rods, are among the globally available packaging units for end consumers, but also for retailers. Usually, a bundle pack consists of ten cigarette packs, which are usually formed in two rows of five packs. The two rows of packages lie with large surfaces (front and back) to each other.

A bundle pack of the above embodiment is known by the US 3,027,998 , In this pack, a group of cigarette packs arranged in two rows is surrounded by a foil which extends on five sides of the pack group. A bottom wall consists of two closing covers of thin cardboard, partially overlapping each other. These are attached to the film wrapping with angled legs.

Also known is a bundle pack for "Hope" brand cigarettes. The bundle pack has the features of the preamble of claim 1.

The invention has for its object to provide a bundle pack for cigarettes, which allows easy removal of the cigarette packs, has a low material consumption, but nevertheless ensures adequate protection of the cigarette packs against mechanical stress and aroma or moisture losses.

To solve this problem, the package of the invention is characterized by the features of claim 1.

In the bundle pack according to the invention, the bundle blank is accordingly designed so that a large-area (front) wall is completely or almost completely absent, so that the cigarette packs are exposed in this area. These are positioned so that the front surfaces of the cigarette packs, ie the specially designed visible surfaces, are exposed in the region of the open package side and are therefore directly visible. The consumer can thus immediately visually recognize the contents of the bundle pack. Nevertheless, the unity and closeness of the bundle pack is ensured by the outer wrapping of a film. For manufacturing, but also for the sake of presentation, the container blank is designed so that an edge strip is preferably provided on one side in the region of the open (front) side of the bundle pack. This may correspond structurally to the shape or the design of the front of the cigarette packs.

The drawings relate to packs of cigarettes, so-called cigarette rods. A group of cigarette packs 10 is surrounded by a container blank 11. The container blank consists of a solid, but foldable material, in particular of (thin) cardboard.

The container blank is for the embodiment of Fig. 1 so educated ( Fig. 2 ) and folded that a large-scale side of the bundle pack, namely a top 12 is free or open. The package contents - the group of cigarette packs 10 - is surrounded only by a bottom wall 13, two elongated side walls 14, 15 and by two small-scale end walls 16, 17. The cigarette packs 10 are positioned within the bundle of packages or container blank 11 in a group formed, in two rows, of which in Fig. 1 the upper row is visible in the area of the upper side 12. The cigarette packs 10 are within the series with narrow side surfaces together. A front side 18 of the cigarette packs of the upper row is facing the upper side 12, so exposed and thus visible.

In the embodiment shown, the front side 18 of the cigarette packs 10 is particularly designed, namely with curved closing edges 19 and 20 of a lid and a box part. The closing edges 19, 20 are arranged at a distance and parallel. Between the closing edges 19, 20 is a portion of a disposed within the cigarette pack 10 collar visible. In addition, the cigarette packs are formed with rounded, lateral packing edges, ie with round edges 21. This design of the cigarette packs 10 is due to the construction of the bundle pack or the container blank 11 freely visible from the outside.

The unit consisting of the cigarette packs 10 and the container blank 11 is surrounded by an outer casing 22. This consists of a transparent or clear film (cellophane or plastic). The outer wrap 22 completely surrounds the bundle pack, ie in the area of all sides. Covering folding flaps of the outer sheath 22 are connected together in a known manner by gluing or by thermal sealing.

To open the bundle pack outer jacket 22 is provided with an opening aid, with a circumferential tear strip 23. This is arranged in the present case in the longitudinal center of the elongated, cuboid bundle pack, so that upon actuation of the surrounding tear strip 23 - with the help of an exposed grip end 31 - two (approximately) equal parts of the outer sheath 22 arise, which can be easily removed from the pack. The tear strip 23 may also be positioned off-center, for example such that a "cap" of the outer wrap 22 may be removed after removal of the tear strip 23.

The container blank 11 is provided to form the end walls 16, 17 with inner tabs 24, 25 which are mounted in continuation of the side walls 14, 15. In the region of the bottom wall 13 there is a (rectangular) cover flap 26. This forms the outside of the end wall 16, 17 and extends (approximately) over the full surface thereof.

Folding lines 27 for delimiting the bottom wall 13 of the side walls 14, 15 are provided with punched cuts 28, which facilitate the folding process when wrapping the group of cigarette packs 10.

The embodiment according to Fig. 3 / Fig. 4 differs from the described in that the open side of the bundle pack, so the top 12, has an edge strip 29 at one edge. This extends in the region of the open top 12 over the full length thereof. The edge strip 29 facilitates the wrapping of the group of cigarette packs 10 through the container blank 11 and is also suitable as a carrier of decorative and / or informative imprints. The edge strip 29 is not connected to the end walls 16, 17. The edge strip 29 is held by the outer sheath 22 in contact with the cigarette packs 10 and their front sides 18. After removal of the outer sheath 22, the edge strip 29 is freely movable.

Claims (4)

1. A multipack for cigarettes - cigarette bundle pack - for a group of cigarette packs (10) arranged in rows, said group being enclosed by a multipack blank (11) made of thin cardboard, it being the case that the cigarette packs (10) within a row lie with their narrow side surfaces abutting one another, and that the multipack blank (11) surrounds the group of cigarette packs (10) only with base wall (13), narrow elongate side walls (14, 15) and end walls (16, 17) so that the group of cigarette packs (10) is open at least on a large-surface side - top side (12) -, and therefore not covered or predominantly not covered by the multipack blank (11), with the cigarette packs (10) being arranged such that a large-surface front side (18) of same is positioned in the region of the open top side (12) of the multipack blank (11) and that the unit comprising the cigarette packs (10) and the multipack blank (11) is fully enclosed by an outer wrapper (22) made of transparent material, namely by a cellophane or plastic film, characterized in that at least one side wall (14, 15) has a narrow border strip (29) which extends - without being connected to the end walls (16, 17) - in the region of the otherwise open top side (12).
