Abstract

The invention relates to a respiratory protection mask for a compressed air breathing apparatus comprising a pulmonary machine which is controlled by a control membrane when the wearer of the mask breathes in. According to the invention, the air outlet of the expiratory valve and the control membrane are covered by a common cover, forming a rinsing area on the outside of the control membrane through which homogeneously temperate, clean rinsing air flows from the air outlet to the air discharge openings in the cover, thereby ensuring high functionality and high service life of the membrane-controlled pulmonary machine despite extreme environmental conditions.

Description

The invention relates to a respirator for SCBA, with an automatic regulator, which is controlled by a control membrane, and an exhalation valve with air outlet.

Respiratory masks are usually operated in conjunction with a compressed air breathing apparatus with a lung machine, which is connected via a screw or plug connection with the mask body. The control of the air supply from a pressure reducer via a medium pressure line via an actuated by the inhalation of the mask wearer control membrane, which acts via mechanical connection to a control valve, which releases the intermediate pressure line as needed. This understandably highly sensitive, thin membrane made of an elastic material is extremely sensitive to the environmental influences caused by extreme temperatures and aggressive media. The functionality of the membrane can be impaired, for example, by reducing the elasticity at low temperatures and thereby the breathing resistance and the sensitivity is adversely affected or the membrane material of aggressive gases such as hydrogen sulfide or phosgene, penetrated, destroyed or at least impaired in its mechanical properties.

The invention is therefore based on the object, an A temschutzmnaske of the type mentioned in such a way that the function of the control diaphragm is not affected by temperature influences and aggressive media and a long life is guaranteed.

According to the invention the object is achieved with a respirator according to the features of claim 1. From the dependent claims, advantageous developments of the invention.

The basic idea of the invention consists in the arrangement of an air outlet of the exhalation valve and the control membrane together cross-cap, which has at the opposite, that is, remote from the air outlet side, air outlet openings. In this way, a flushing chamber or flushing channel is created above the control membrane, flows uniformly tempered, clean exhaled air of the mask wearer from the air outlet of the respirator over the surface of the control diaphragm to the air outlet opening in the cap and thereby flushes away the aggressive gases and at the same time the control diaphragm on a constant Temperature keeps or cools or heats according to the outside temperature. This ensures undisturbed functionality and a long service life of the control diaphragm.

According to the prior art DE 27 20 681 the exhaled air is blown into any relatively voluminous exhalation bag made of flexible material and passed undirected around the regulator and out of exhalation. There is no flushing chamber or flushing channel provided in a substantially constant, small distance above the control diaphragm. Therefore, there is no targeted flushing of the surface of the control membrane.

According to the prior art DE 11 53 258 is formed above the control diaphragm a partitioned by an intermediate wall space in which the exhaled air flows through a connecting piece and from which the exhaled air flows through openings to the outside. In the intermediate wall, an exhalation valve is arranged at a small distance from the center of the membrane. Rinsing and tempering of the entire surface of the membrane is not possible with this arrangement, since no flushing channel is formed above the membrane.

An embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, in the single figure of a respirator with a pulmonary attached to this partially in section.

The mask body 1 of a respirator has an automatic regulator 2 for supplying the air provided by a compressed air reservoir via a pressure reducer and a medium pressure line 3 to the mask wearer. The control of the air supply according to the respiratory rhythm via an actuated by inhalation control membrane 4, which is connected via a lever system with a control valve (not shown) for releasing the medium-pressure line 3 during inhalation. Along the dashed line, the arrows A, B and C show the path of the inhaled air from the medium pressure line 3 via the chamber 5 and the air inlet 6 of the lung machine and along the mask discs 12 to the mask wearer, while the spent air in the direction of arrows D. , E and F via the exhalation valve 7 enters the outside. As can be seen from the drawing, the exhaled air from the mask wearer but not directly into the open air, but via an air outlet 8 in the limited by a cap 9 Spülraum 10 above the control diaphragm 4. That is, at each Ausatemzyklus uniformly tempered, clean purging air , namely the exhalation air of the mask wearer, passed over the surface of the control membrane 4. Regardless of the outside temperature, the control diaphragm 4 is thus always uniformly tempered and thus limited in its functionality either by too high or too low outdoor temperatures: The control diaphragm 4 is neither too stiff nor too soft, but retains its predetermined mechanical properties. The breathing conditions for the mask wearer thus remain optimal even under extreme conditions. In addition, aggressive, toxic gases, such as hydrogen sulfide or phosgene, which diffuse relatively quickly through the thin control membrane in the breathing air and can damage the equipment carrier, continuously flushed away by the exhaled air from the control diaphragm 4, so that in this respect no impairment of the control membrane is to be feared, but a long life and purity of the air is guaranteed. About air outlet openings 11 in the cap 9, the exhaled air (purge air) enters the outside.
