Description

TECHNISCHES GEBIETTECHNICAL AREA

The present invention relates to a method of fixing a panel such as e.g. a pane of glass in a frame element.

STAND DER TECHNIKSTATE OF THE ART

It is known, for example for doors, gates or windows made of glass, to grasp a pane of glass with the aid of frame elements or profiles which have a groove that accommodates the pane of glass in the edge area, circumferentially or only on one (for example only at the top) or on several sides .

There are different approaches to attach the glass pane in these frame elements.

For example, in the context of so-called wet glazing, it is possible to fix the glass pane by means of "liquid adhesive" (eg silicone, PUR, etc.) between the aluminum frame and the glass, usually on both sides of the glass. The advantage of this wet glazing with regard to the technical properties is that the bonding of aluminum to glass creates a secure connection and that a good sealing property can be achieved. In terms of assembly, wet glazing is advantageous because no play-free "padding" of the glass to the aluminum frame is necessary, and because the variety of different rubber seals is no longer necessary.

The process also has serious disadvantages, however, with regard to the technical properties that the glass edge bond can be negatively influenced by incorrectly selected adhesive (outgassing), that there is poor ventilation of the bond area and uncontrolled curing time results, and that quality control is difficult or impossible is because the bond is not visible. With regard to the assembly, the disadvantages arise that processing is only possible with consideration of the corresponding curing time of the adhesive or sealant system (can take days), that the quality (visual and mechanical) depends on the manual skill of the processor, that Typically long interim storage is necessary, which in turn requires additional space, that shorter processing times can be achieved with 2-component adhesives, but expensive processing equipment is necessary, and intensive cleaning work is necessary, so that there may be a large adhesive volume with a large gap width that if the gap between aluminum and glass is small, applying the adhesive is unfavorable, and that the glass must be positioned for gluing.

There are also disadvantages in terms of maintenance and service: if the glass breaks, the frame can usually only be reused with great effort (the adhesive must be removed from aluminum), and the splice must be cut with a knife.

For example from the US 2005/0081981 As can be seen, it is alternatively known to carry out the glazing with the aid of double-sided adhesive tapes. In this case, a double-sided adhesive tape is normally glued onto the inner flanks of the groove in the frame element, then the cover material is removed from the adhesive tape and the glass pane is inserted. The problem is how this is done in the US 2005/0081918 it is described that it is as good as impossible to fit a pane into a groove that is very narrow in terms of its width with respect to the thickness of the glass without appropriate special measures. In spite of this, this process admittedly creates a bond that creates a secure connection between aluminum (or another material of the frame element) and glass, and it becomes produces a good sealing property. With regard to the assembly, there is the advantage that no play-free "padding" of the glass to the aluminum frame is necessary.

  • Aufgrund der offenen "Klebestelle", ergibt sich ein erhöhtes Verschmutzungsrisiko;
  • es sind diverse spez. Dichtprofile notwendig;
With regard to the technical properties, however, there are serious disadvantages:
  • Due to the open "glue point", there is an increased risk of contamination;
  • there are various spec. Sealing profiles necessary;
  • the shear force of the dilatation acts 100% on the adhesive surface → the thickness of the adhesive tape must be selected accordingly, which can have a negative impact on the safety clearances.

With regard to assembly, there are the disadvantages that the seals have to be cut to size (scrap); that the application of the adhesive tape is complex (no predefined position), that the straightening work on the frame is critical.

There are also disadvantages with regard to maintenance and service, namely if the glass breaks, the frame can only be reused with great effort (aluminum must be freed from the adhesive tape) and the splice must be cut with a knife.

The U.S. 4,581,089 discloses an L-shaped gasket with variable width to compensate for unevenness which is let in between a window mullion and two panes of glass. The seal is fixed between the window mullion and a pane of glass by hardening, and the second pane of glass is then added after any transport. This enables two adjacent window posts to be vertically displaceable relative to one another without the seal being lost. From a double-sided tape on the long leg is in the U.S. 4,581,089 not the talk. The variable width here depends on the amount of sealant used.

The DE 20 2005 003 874 U1 relates to an adhesive sealing tape for fixing a glass plate in a frame. The tape used as a strip has a elastic layer, at least one further layer and at least one adhesive layer. A double-sided adhesive tape and a cover film are also disclosed. This allows the glass plate to be fixed in the frame and the groove in the frame to be sealed. It is also disclosed that the cover film can be in two parts, so that one part can be peeled off before the frame is inserted and the second part after the frame has been inserted. In the DE 20 2005 003 874 U1 it is not a process for inserting a glass plate into a groove of a frame profile for encompassing a plate edge. The use of the adhesive tape for building windows is also nowhere proposed, only for panes of household appliances, which are usually small and do not exert as great a force in the vertical direction as with vertically arranged windows.

DARSTELLUNG DER ERFINDUNGDISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION

The invention is therefore based, inter alia, on the object of providing an improved method for assembling a glass door, a glass wall or, in general, a glass pane in a profile.

Specifically, the aim is to improve a method for fastening at least one pane of glass or generally a plate made of glass, wood, metal (aluminum, steel), plastic or combinations thereof in a profile that has a mounting groove for encompassing an edge of the glass pane .

The solution to this problem is achieved, among other things, in that in a first step a mounting sealing rubber is arranged on at least one of the glass panes and the inside of the mounting groove aligned parallel to this, on whose surface facing the glass pane a double-sided adhesive tape is attached. The side of the double-sided adhesive tape facing the glass pane is covered with the cover film, that is, the sticky top side is not exposed. Before the second step is carried out, it can be advantageous, according to a preferred variant, to fold the cover film over a short section by 90 ° in an edge area so that the final removal in the third step is facilitated.

In a second step, the glass pane is now pushed into the assembly groove (which is not a problem due to the fact that the adhesive tape is covered with the cover film), the glass pane in the assembly groove by at least one counter-element (e.g. rubber counter-seal) arranged on the opposite side of the glass pane ) or the opposite inside of the mounting groove is pressed against the double-sided adhesive tape. In other words, the width of the opening gap of the mounting groove is set in such a way that the glass pane is already at least partially pressed into the mounting groove with a force fit in this step. Alternatively or preferably, it is possible that in this second step no sealing rubber is arranged on the side opposite the assembly sealing rubber, and that this opposing counter-sealing rubber is inserted or retrieved after completion of the second step.

Now, in a third step, the cover film is removed with the glass pane pushed into the assembly groove and, in other words, a material bond is also established.

The essence of the invention is thus that it was recognized that, surprisingly, when using a combined element consisting of assembly sealing rubber with double-sided adhesive tape, due to the elasticity of the assembly sealing rubber, it is possible to insert the glass pane in a state in which the cover film is still on the double-sided Adhesive tape is arranged, and because of the elasticity, it is also possible to pull this cover sheet out of the slot between the glass sheet and the rubber mounting seal when the glass sheet is inserted. This facilitates the assembly process enormously, and it allows both force-fit and material-locking fastening of the glass pane in the profile without the usual problems with the positioning of the glass pane if the cover sheet is already in place before the glass pane penetrates, as in the prior art is common, is removed.

Using rubber sealing profiles and double-sided adhesive tape, a firm bond is created between the glass and the aluminum frame (partly by gluing using adhesive tape, partly by means of a positive fit, if the mounting rubber seal is also attached to the profile via a positive fit attached, as will be explained below).

In general, it must be emphasized that when a double-sided adhesive tape is used here, this should also include solutions in which an adhesive is applied directly to the side of the rubber assembly sealing facing the glass pane and is covered by a cover film.

    • Keine speziellen Montagehilfsmittel bzw.
    • Keine Zwischenlagerung notwenig, geringerer Platzbedarf
    • Keine spezielle Reinigungsarbeiten (entfernen Klebstoffrückstände)
  • Wartung/Service:
The advantages of the proposed solution include the following aspects:
  • Technical characteristics:
    • Bonding / form fit from the glass to the rubber stop creates a secure connection
    • Sufficient sealing property
    • The shear forces of the dilation are absorbed between the aluminum (in the event that an aluminum profile is used) and the rubber stop (does not act directly on the joint)
    • Can be used immediately in the system
  • Assembly:
    • No play-free "padding" of the glass to the aluminum frame necessary
    • Assembly possible in one work step, do not consider curing times
    • No special assembly aids or devices required
    • Mounting rubber seal (with double-sided adhesive tape) is automatically positioned during assembly. After the assembly is complete, the tear-off tab on the rubber stop / assembly sealing rubber is removed (see embodiment below)
    • Consistent quality regardless of the processor (visual and mechanical)
    • No intermediate storage necessary, less space required
    • No special cleaning work (remove adhesive residue)
  • Maintenance / Service:
    • In the event of glass breakage, glass can be replaced without time-consuming glass removal and cleaning of the aluminum profiles.

A first preferred embodiment of the method is characterized in that the profile on the inside of the assembly groove has first means for form-fitting, force-fitting and / or material fastening of the assembly sealing rubber with its side facing away from the glass pane. Alternatively or in addition, it is preferred that the assembly sealing rubber in turn has on its side facing the inside of the assembly groove via second means for form-fitting, non-positive and / or material fastening of the assembly sealing rubber on the inside of the assembly groove. In this case, the assembly sealing rubber is attached to the profile with the aid of the first and / or second means before the glass pane is inserted.

According to a preferred embodiment in this regard, the first means are at least one groove and / or rib running at least in sections along the direction of the profile. Accordingly, the second means are preferably at least one rib and / or groove designed for mutual engagement, the rib being preferably fastened in the groove via a form fit, possibly in combination with a force fit and / or material fit.

In general, it is preferred that the assembly sealing rubber has a sealing leg which is arranged between the glass pane and the profile in the assembled state and which consists of a rubber-elastic material so that sufficient elasticity is ensured for the subsequent removal of the cover film. This is preferably ensured by the sealing leg having a thickness of at least 0.5 mm, preferably at least 0.7 mm, particularly preferably in the range of 0.7-5.0 mm, and preferably made of an elastic material such as elastomers (natural, synthetic), e.g. selected from rubber, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM), silicone rubber, elastomeric other plastics (such as PE, PP, PVC, PA, PET), or a mixture such materials.

The assembly sealing rubber preferably has a stop projection which at least partially covers the front edge of the assembly groove. The sealing leg and the stop projection are preferably designed in one piece. In this case, as part of the method, the rubber assembly sealing is inserted into the assembly groove in such a way that the stop projection comes to lie flush with the front edge.

The assembly sealing rubber can preferably have a tear-off strip attached to the stop projection by means of a tear-off edge, with the sealing leg, stop projection and tear-off strip preferably forming an at least partially U-shaped profile which surrounds the front portion of the side leg of the assembly groove. As part of the method, the tear-off strip is torn off before or preferably after the removal of the cover film, so that at the end only the sealing leg and stop projection remain in the assembled state. In other words, the tear-off strip is only used for the temporary fastening and positioning of the rubber mounting seal.

Typically, the profile is an aluminum profile, preferably an aluminum profile that is untreated in the area of the mounting groove and is U-shaped to form the mounting groove perpendicular to the direction in which it extends.

On the side of the mounting groove opposite the mounting rubber seal, a second mounting rubber seal is preferably arranged before the glass pane is inserted, or a counter-sealing rubber is arranged on the opposite side of the mounting groove before the glass pane is inserted, this counter-sealing rubber preferably being attached to the profile (analogous to the above was written for the assembly sealing rubber) and / or wherein the counter-sealing rubber preferably has at least one, preferably several sealing ribs facing the glass pane in order to ensure increased elasticity and thereby easier removal of the cover film.

Typically, before sliding the glass into the bottom of the Mounting groove rubber blocks inserted.

Further preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.

WEGE ZUR AUSFÜHRUNG DER ERFINDUNGWAYS OF CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

With reference to the figures, the invention, as it is defined in the appended claims and is generally explained above, is to be presented in the context of exemplary embodiments. The figures and the following description should only be used to explain the invention and not to restrict the protective concept as stated in the claims.

In Figure 1 a section perpendicular to the direction of extension of two aluminum profiles 3 is shown. The two aluminum profiles have, on a side facing the glass pane 1, a mounting groove 17 which runs parallel to the direction of the profile 3. On the opposite side in each case, another groove is arranged, into which sealing lips 14 can be inserted and fastened in a form-fitting manner. The two profiles are specifically two opposing profiles of a sliding door, and the section runs through the contact area when the door is closed Door, that is to say two sealing lips 14 which at least partially engage one another, are arranged in the area of the closing edge.

In other words, the profiles 3 are designed as H-profiles, two longitudinal members 15 arranged essentially parallel to one another being arranged and a cross member 16 arranged between them perpendicular to these and connecting them.

The assembly groove 17 into which the glass pane 1 is inserted and fastened therein is thus formed between the two longitudinal members 15.

To adjust the distance between the end face of the glass pane 1 and the cross member 16, so-called block rubbers 4 are typically arranged in sections, which are used in the appropriate thicknesses depending on requirements. They can be fastened in the mounting groove 17 via corresponding projections or the like.

Diese dienen der Befestigung des Montagedichtgummi 10 respektive des gegenüberliegenden Gegendichtgummi 2.The two cross members 16 have on their inside, that is to say on the side facing the assembly groove 17, two grooves 5 arranged parallel to the direction of travel and opposite one another. These are used to fasten the assembly sealing rubber 10 or the opposing counter-sealing rubber 2.

Des weiteren verfügt der Montagedichtgummi 10 über einen die Vorderkante des Längsträgers 15 wenigstens teilweise bedeckenden Anschlagvorsprung 12.The assembly sealing rubber 10 is arranged in the region of the front edge, that is to say in the end region of the longitudinal beams 15 facing the exposed glass pane 1. In this case, at least in sections, it has a rib 11 which engages in said groove 5 and ensures that the assembly sealing rubber 10 is held in a form-fitting manner. Furthermore, the assembly sealing rubber 10 has a stop projection 12 which at least partially covers the front edge of the longitudinal member 15.

A double-sided adhesive tape 13 is arranged on the side of the assembly sealing rubber 10 facing the glass pane. The assembly sealing rubber 10, the arrangement of the double-sided adhesive tape and the method of assembly are described in detail below.

A counter-sealing rubber 2 (wedge seal) is arranged opposite the assembly sealing rubber 10. On the right in Figure 1 this counter sealing rubber 2 is also formed with a rib 9 which engages in the opposite groove 5 and also serves to hold the rubber counter seal 2 on the longitudinal member 15. The counter-sealing rubber 2 also has a stop projection 7. On the side facing the glass pane, the counter-sealing rubber 2 has protruding sealing ribs 2, which ensure that the glass pane 1 is held in the mounting groove 17 in the best possible non-positive but nevertheless elastic manner.

In the opposite embodiment, that is to say on the left, the counter-sealing rubber 2 is equipped with only two such sealing ribs 8 on the side facing the glass pane.

In the present case, for example, the total profile depth over both profiles is in the range of 1 = 40-100 mm, with the individual profiles having a depth in the range of m = n = 20-40 mm. The distance r between the two profiles is usually small, i.e. in the range of less than 10 mm. Typically, the depth of the mounting groove 17 is in the range of p + q = 10-25 mm, wherein the rubber block 4 can have a thickness q in the range of 1-10 mm, for example. The outer distance s of the two longitudinal members 15 is, for example, in the range of 15-30 mm, and the inner clear width of the mounting groove 17, taking into account the two rubbers 2, 10, which is available for the thickness t of the glass, is in the range of 5-15 mm.

In Figure 2 the assembly sealing rubber 10 is shown in detail. It has a sealing leg 18 which is arranged essentially parallel to the longitudinal beam 15. The sealing leg 18 goes to the in Figure 1a The side shown below is essentially at right angles over into the stop protrusion 12. The stop protrusion tapers at the outer left end to form a tear-off edge 20 down to a significantly smaller material thickness, which allows the glass pane 1 to be torn off on the following tear-off strips 19 after assembly. The tear-off strip is provided for positioning the assembly sealing rubber 10 and encompasses the front edge 26 of the longitudinal beam 15 of the profile 3. In other words, on the sealing leg 18 there is a surface 25 facing away from the glass pane and facing the longitudinal beam 15 and a surface 24 facing the glass pane.

How out Figure 2b , in which part of the profile 3 is also shown schematically, encompasses in other words before the last step of assembly (see discussion of FIG Figure 3 further below), that is to say before the cover film 23 is removed from the double-sided adhesive tape 13 arranged on the side 24 and before the tear-off strip 19 is removed, the assembly sealing rubber 10 and the front edge 26.

Furthermore, it can be seen how the rib 11 engages in the corresponding recess 5. As in the presentation according to Figure 2 b) Subsequent steps would now have to be carried out for the finished assembly to pull out the cover film 23 and tear off the tear-off strip 19.

In Figure 2c ) a perspective view is shown, here it can be seen that the double-sided adhesive tape 13 is arranged over the entire length of the profile of the assembly sealing rubber 10. In general, the assembly sealing rubber 10 is preferably an endless profile which is cut to length as required.
