Dispositif pour préparer un matériau d'étoupe pour filtre pour la fabrication de filtres destinés à des articles à fumer en forme de bâtonnets tels que par exemple des cigarettes, comprenant des moyens de mise à disposition d'étoupe pour filtre (7) pour fournir deux bandes d'étoupe pour filtre (4, 6), deux chemins de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3), une bande d'étoupe pour filtre (4, 6) étant guidée dans chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3), et des dispositifs de traitement (24, 44) pour traiter les bandes d'étoupe pour filtre (4, 6), un dispositif de traitement propre (26, 28, 30, 49 ; 27, 29, 31, 50) étant associé à chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3), ledit dispositif pouvant être commandé séparément, caractérisé en ce qu'est prévu à l'extrémité de chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3) un dispositif de prélèvement séparé et que chaque dispositif de traitement comporte des moyens (26, 28, 30, 49 ; 27, 29, 31, 50) pour étaler, étirer et/ou traiter le matériau d'étoupe pour filtre, qu'à chaque chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3) sont associés des moyens (26, 28, 30, 49 ; 27, 29, 31, 50) pour étaler, étirer et/ou traiter le matériau d'étoupe pour filtre et en ce que les moyens pour étaler, les moyens pour étirer et/ou les moyens pour traiter forment respectivement une unité dans laquelle ils sont disposés côte à côte et transversalement à la direction des chemins de guidage d'étoupe (2, 3), et en ce que les moyens pour étaler et/ou pour étirer formant une unité comportent une paire de rouleaux étireurs (28, 29, 30, 31) montés côte à côte de manière coaxiale, et en ce qu'à chaque paire de rouleaux étireurs (28, 29, 30, 31) est associée un mécanisme d'entraînement propre pouvant être commandé séparément, chaque première, deuxième, troisième et quatrième paire de rouleaux étireurs (28, 29, 30, 31) comprenant un rouleau de plus faible épaisseur et de plus petit diamètre et un rouleau de plus forte épaisseur et de plus grand diamètre, le rouleau de plus forte épaisseur étant monté non entraîné et pouvant être ajusté séparément dans une direction transversale à son axe de rotation par des organes d'actionnement,
    les paires de rouleaux étireurs (28, 29, 30, 31) étant montées d'un côté sur une paroi arrière (32) verticale du châssis de machine,
    une première paire de rouleaux de freinage (26) et la première paire de rouleaux étireurs (28) et la troisième paire de rouleaux étireurs (30) étant associées au premier chemin de guidage d'étoupe (2) et une deuxième paire de rouleaux de freinage (27) et la deuxième paire de rouleaux étireurs (29) et la quatrième paire de rouleaux étireurs (31) étant associées au deuxième chemin de guidage d'étoupe (3),
    la première paire de rouleaux de freinage (26) et la deuxième paire de rouleaux de freinage pouvant être actionnées séparément par des organes d'actionnement respectivement associées séparément, par lesquelles l'effort de freinage exercé par les paires de rouleaux de freinage (26, 27) sur les bandes d'étoupe pour filtre (4, 6), peut être influencé.

  4. Device according to claim 3, characterised in that the adhesive application apparatus has first means for applying slow-setting adhesive, in particular cold-setting glue, and second means for applying quick-setting adhesive, in particular hot melt adhesive.
  5. Device according to at least one of the preceding claims, with a shaping apparatus (62, 63) for shaping two round filter tow strands (64, 66) from two filter tow strips (4, 6), characterised in that two double-offset, conical inlet fingers (68, 69) through which in each case a filter tow strand (64, 66) is fed, are provided downstream after the shaping apparatus (62, 63) to reduce the distance between the filter tow strands (64, 66) .
  6. Device according to at least one of the preceding claims, with a shaping apparatus (62, 63) for shaping round filter tow strands (64, 66) from the filter tow strips (4, 6), characterised in that diverter means, which preferably have at least one diverter roller, are provided downstream after the shaping apparatus (62, 63) to divert the round filter tow strands.
