Abstract

The panel consists of an opaque support in which a decorative pattern is cut out and filled with a transparent or translucent material bonded to the support. The support may be of wood, consolidated fibres, metal or cement and the filling material of plastic material optionally contains a plastic, mineral or metal filler. The cut out pattern may e filled with a solution of plastic material and the solvent evaporated or both support and filling material may be moulded between platens and cooled. The panels are easily and cheaply constructed.
