Abstract

The hand operated machine for joining conveyor belt ends, has the staples (19) fitted to the belt end plate (21) which fits around the connecting pin (24b). The stapler has an anvil (14b) and a punch (15b) which moves in the guide (27). The punch is operated by the lever (34) joined to the link (38) and swinging around a pin (35). The cam (36) operating on the same lever, brings the staple ends close to the anvil and holds the belt in position. As the punch moves downwards, the guide block (28) is rotated to the vertical position by the face (31) of the punch and holds the staple in the vertical groove in the face of the block (25).
