Abstract
1,199,514. Furniture joints. EDWARD WILLIAMS HOLDINGS Ltd. 15 Jan., 1969 [30 Jan., 1968], No. 4685/68. Heading A4H. [Also in Division F2] A joint connecting two members 1 and 3, at least one of which is a tubular member, comprise a spigot 2 secured, as by projection welding, to member 1 and having an end face 2a inclined to the spigot axis, an integral tongue portion 3a bent inwardly of the tubular member 3 so as to lie parallel to the inclined face of the spigot and to define a gap in the wall or one of the walls of the tubular member, and a clamping screw 6 passing through a hole 5 in the tongue portion and engaging a threaded hole 4 in the spigot. As described members 1 and 3 are tubular members of square cross-section forming vertical and cross-members of a frame or structure.
