Abstract

A draught excluder consists of two fabric-covered cylindrical pieces of resiliently compressible material connected together along their length by nylon webbing. The cylindrical pieces are disposed on opposite sides of the foot of the door, the webbing being of a width to cause them to grip the door tightly, and one of the pieces being shorter than the other by a couple of inches to fit within the door frame. The fabric coverings are secured at each end by a draw string sewn inside. Engagement of the cylindrical pieces with the door on the one hand and the floor on the other provides effective exclusion of draughts. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Draught excluder The principle features of the construction of this article are as follows: Two fabric covered rolls are attached by means of a webbing strip in such a way as to permit the strip to be slid under a door. When this is done the rolls will be positioned tightly against each bottom edge of the door. The rolls will then remain in position when the door is opened and closed.
The rolls are made out of a man-mads fibre, moulded, with a 22 inch diameter, one at 28-30 inches long and one at 25-28 inches long. They will be covered with an upholstery material, the ends will be drawn together with a form of drawstring sewn inside when the article is finished. The rolls will be joined together by a nylon webbing giving a final clearance of 2 inches to go under the door. The reason for one roll being larger than the other is to allow for the fact that a door clearance is not the same both sides.
1. Device for restricting the passage of draughts under a door comprising two cylinders of compressible resilient material to be positioned against each bottom edge of a door. Each cylinder to attach to opposite edges of a piece of material positioned under the door.
2. Device as claimed in claim 1, in that the material under the door is a webbing material.
3. Device as claimed in either of the preceding claims in which each cylinder is covered by a cloth material sewn tightly about it and secured at each end by draw strings sewn inside.
4. Device as claimed in claim 1, and accompanying drawings, diagram 1 and 2, for restricting the passage of draughts under a door substantially as hereinbefore described.
