Abstract

A flexible extruded strip 1 of corrugated re-entrant cross-section is adapted to be wrapped around a component and have its ends connected by a like profiled bridging strip 3 to form a protective/decorative sheath. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Flexible, protsctive, decorative strip This invention relates to a covering for various profiles. Other related coverings in certain applications require mechanical and/or other materials to sustain a secure covering on application to a profile or surface and are thus more labour intensive and costly.
The covering medium to which the invention relates, comprises a multi-section in a required width and length as per individual application whether decorative or protective, many applications in this form do not require any other materials or special equipment in the assembly or use of the invention.
Whilst the characteristics of form and application embodied in the invention as specified will remain, the invention can be produced in various sizes considered more advantageous in the use thereof.
The invention will now be described in greater detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 represents the invention in a free condition for use in covering a rectangular profile.
Figure 2 in direct contact with surface area of profile, the invention being stressed in direction of arrows.
Figure 3 method of securing invention to profile by compression of a overlap strip thus creating a secure locking condition throughout the length required.
Figures 4 and 5 are respectively a plan and front elevation of the invention.
Figure 6 is an enlarged front elevation giving clear emphasis of the overlap assembly condition.
1. An extrusion produced in any required length or width in such a form to be used in conjunction with other materials.
2. An extrusion according to claim 1 produced in multi-section form which allows for greater flexibility whilst at the same time maintaining a rigid surface area when assembled as a protective or decorative covering.
3. The medium as claimed in 1 and 2 wherein means are provided to cover outer surfaces thus creating a protective and/or decorative system.
4. A flexible strip material so formed as described in the accompanying drawings.
