Abstract
A lock is constructed so as to be opened by a key 13 on which there are ten pins 20 of different lengths and widths adapted to the grooves of the pins 12 inside the lock. A driving axle 10 is forced to move outwardly to drive a lock rod 1 to open the lock when the positions of the grooves of the pins 20, which are different from one another, are aligned with one another using the key 13. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Improved structure of lock
Nowadays, the role that locks play is very important to daily life. There are many kinds of locks; the most popular lock is the hanging lock or padlock, the use of which is very extensive.
Generally, it can be used for locking cabinets, tool boxes, door latches, etc. Since the use and importance of locks are known, it is necessary to improve the structure of the locks. The present invention relates to an improved structure of lock which aims at the drawbacks of the conventional.
In the past, it has been found that many shop counters were opened by thieves though the shop counters had been locked; or, a bicycle could be stolen in less than three minutes. Many people are disturbed by the ease with which thieves appear to be able to defeat the law. Obviously, the value of conventional locks is small, in that they have serious drawbacks; even a wire can open the lock.
The main reason is that the structure of the locks are familiar to ordinary people; therefore, it is easy for thieves to take advantage. For the reasons stated above, the inventor of the present invention has designed an improved structure of lock through many years of research.
The main object of the present invention is to provide an improved structure of lock which can be opened only by a key having ten pins of different lengths and different widths completely adapted to the lock. Since there are over a billion kinds of arrangements of the grooves, the purpose for opening the lock without using the correct key will never be achieved.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an improved structure of lock which can be opened only by a key having ten pins of different lengths and different widths adapted to the grooves of the driving axle. The structure is simple; the manufacturing cost is low; the lock is suitable to be manufactured.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an improved structure of lock whose life can be prolonged by decreasing its rate of breakdown because there is no other mechanical motion except the match of the driving axle and the grooves of the pins inside the core.
A further object of the present invention is to provide an improved structure of lock in which the core may be adapted to all types and all kinds of locks. Thus, the use is extensive.
The invention will further be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which: Figure 1 is a full-sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
Figure 2 is a fragmentary perspective view of the embodiment of Figure 1; and
Figure 3 is a fragmentary perspective view of the core of the lock of Figures 1 and 2.
Referring to Figure 1, the lock comprises a lock case (2), a lock rod (1), a driving lever (3), and a core (7). The core (please refer to Figure 2) comprises a core body (70). Ten helical springs (1 1), ten pins (12), a driving axle (10), etc. The positions of the grooves of the pins (12) and the widths of the pins inside the core (7) are different from one another. When a key (13) having ten pins (20) of different lengths and different widths being adapted to the positions of the grooves of the pin inside the core (7) is inserted into the core (7), the pins (12) inside the core (7) are forced to move upward so as to align all positions of the grooves of the pins (12) of the core at that time, the driving axle (10) inside the core (7) is forced to move outwardly by a spring (8) to open the lock.If any one of the grooves of the pins inside the lock does not align with the others, the driving axle (10) cannot be moved outwardly. Ordinarily, some grooves of the driving axle (10) are inserted by some pins (12), so that the driving axle (10) cannot be moved. Thus, the driving axle (10) can be moved outwardly only when all positions of the pins inside the core are aligned with one another by using a key having ten pins of different lengths and widths being adapted to the positions of the grooves of the pins inside the core. Therefore, the lock will be opened only if the correct key is inserted into the lock. Referring to Figure 1 when the driving axle (10) is forced to move towards the left, the driving lever (3) being forced by the driving axle (10) to move upwards causes the lock rod (1) to move upwards so that the lock is opened. The action is simple, but in fact it is very difficult to open the lock according to the present invention.
In conclusion, the present invention is really a simple, low-cost, and safe structure of lock. The assembly of the lock according to the present invention tends to be perfect; more particularly, it is unnecessary to worry about the lock being opened by thieves. In addition, the core of the lock according to the present invention is suitable for all types and kinds of locks. Thus, the use of the present invention is very extensive.
1. An improved structure of lock, comprising a core body, ten helical springs, ten pins and a driving axle, characterised in that the driving axle is forced to move outwardly to drive a lock rod to open the lock when the positions of the grooves of the pins of the core, which are different from one another, are aligned with one another by using a key having ten pins of different lengths and widths being adapted to the positions of the grooves of the pins of the core.
2. An improved structure of lock as claimed in claim 1 , wherein, the structure of the core is suitable for all types and all kinds of locks.
3. An improved structure of lock substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
