Internal fittings.- A moisture-absorbing device for a containing vessel comprises a receptacle B attached to the interior of, or formed integral with, the lid A of the vessel and having perforations b<6> by which the interior communicates with the vessel, the receptacle being fitted with a lid b<2> and containing a hygroscopic material in powder form contained within porous fabric bag or within a box D having a porous fabric wall. The receptacle B, when separate from the lid A, may be fixed or detachably secured to the lid A and the lid of the receptacle may have a gapped and grooved rim b<4> engaging a pair of projections b<3> in the body. The porous fabric wall of the box D is held across the perforated lid thereof by engagement of its periphery between the outside edge of the body and the inside edge of the rim of the lid; the lid of the box D may have its central part cut away. When formed integral with the lid A of the vessel, the receptacle B may be formed by indenting a central perforated part of the lid A inwards and fitting the recess or receptacle thus formed with a lid; the recess may be formed by indenting the lid outwards and fitting it with an inner perforated lid. According to the Provisional Specification the powdered hygroscopic material may be loose in a perforated box attached to the lid of the containing vessel, and when the lid is perforated it is fitted over a fabric diaphragm held across the mouth of the box by engagement between the edge of the lid and the rim of the box.
