Abstract

A collecting device for urine has a inlet (21) which envelops all of the male sexual organs and an inner sleeve (25) for enveloping the penis only. The sleeve (25) collects the majority of the urine and the inlet (21) serves to collect leakages. The leakages can pass back into the sheath (25) through a one-way valve (26). The one-way valve (26) is preferably formed by the cooperation of the flexible walls of the inlet (21) and an aperture in the sheath (25). <IMAGE>

Within the container is an internal penile containerfor urine having an inletwhich envelops all uro-sheath 25 which fits around the penis only and of the sexual organs. EP-A-0 093 175 provides a leadsto the non-return valve 32 atthe bottom of the receiving bag of a shape suitable forthe container. The non-return action of the valve 32 is accommodation of male genitals and tackles the achieved bythe holes atthe lower end of the sheath problem of leakage by operating a suction unit in the 85 25 being covered bythe closely adjacent resilient outlet of the bag operated by a urine sensor. Since there is present the outer container for u rine having an in let which envelops all containerfor collecting any leakage, it is not so of the male sexua 1 organs. The invention provides an 100 necessary to make a tight con nection between the improved collecting device which has an inner sheath 25 and the penis and so the discomfort of a sleeve for enveloping the penis and a one-wayvalve tight connection is avoided. The outer part of the between the interior of the sleeve and the remainder container21 can be more firmly secured againstthe of the container to allowflow only from the container body by the draw string or resilient band 24 and so is into the sleeve. 105 likelyto collect any of the leakage which will then In normal operation, urine will be collected bythe pass through the nonreturn valve 26 atthe base of sleeve and will pass directly to a container outlet.
