Abstract

219,612. Fairweather, W., (Singer Manufacturing Co.). March 4, 1924. Securing ball bearing races &c. on shafts.- In means for securing ball bearing races, collars, rings, &c. on shafts, applicable to sewing- machines &c., radial pins 9 engaging holes in the shaft 1 are pressed by a loose wedge-pin 4 actuated by a separate set-screw 6 into engagement with the race &c. 2 to be secured. The ends of the pins 9 may be rounded or concentric with the shaft to drive the part 2 by friction, or may be pointed so as to be imbedded in the surface of the part. In the application to sewing- machine the balance wheel is secured in the threaded aperture 7.
