Abstract

A model car-shaped stationery case, comprising a body (1) having a pair of longitudinal bores (2), opening at the head-light positions, for accepting writing utensils (5). The front wheels (3) contact the writing utensils in the bores so that the writing utensils are urged to protrude from the bores by rotation of the wheels when the body is driven by hand. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Automobile-shaped stationery case The present invention relates to a stationery case having an automobile shape, for housing stationery therein.
Heretofore, stationery cases having a structure to encase, for example, an adhesive tape, measuring tape, scissors and the like together, in the single case, have been placed in the market. These conventional cases oniy have a rectangular shape formed with recesses for all the encasing articles to fit in and these articles are fitted respectively into the corresponding recesses.
An object of the present invention is to provide a model automobile-shaped stationery case for housing stationery, particularly writing utensils, in the body, which is easy to handle and can be displayed as an ornament with an aesthetic value ascribed to the shape of the body.
The above object of the present invention is achieved by a model automobile-shaped stationery case comprising a body having a pair of longitudinal bores which open at headlight positions for accepting writing utensils, such as ball-point pens or the like, and a plurality of wheels pivotally mounted on said body with such an arrangement that treads of at least two of the wheels come into contact with the writing utensils inserted from outside into the longitudinal bores.
For better understanding of the invention, reference is taken to the accompanying drawings which illustrate an embodiment of the model automobile-shaped stationery case according to the invention, wherein: Figure 1 is a slant view; Figure 2 is a perspective decomposed view; Figure 3 is a vertical sectional side view of a principal portion; and Figure 4 is a rear slant view.
In the Figures, an automobile body 1 is provided with a pair of longitudinal bores, such as tubes 2 poked thereinto, at the headlight position. A plurality of rubber wheels 3 are pivotally mounted on the body, which are in the position of undercuts 4 of the tubes 2 so that ball-point pens 5 inserted from outside into the tubes 2 may be in contact with the treads of the rubber wheels 3. When the body is pushed ahead by hand to rotate the rubber wheels in the forward direction, the ball-point pens 5 are urged to protrude. The head end of the ball-point pen 5 is formed with a spherical surface 5' like a head-light glass.
In the embodiment shown in Figures, the body 1 is divisible into halves, i.e., a lower half 1a and an upper half 1b. The halves can be releasably combined with each other by engagement of a fixing hook 6 with an adapted hole 7. The lower half la is provided with a space 8 for accepting a memo pad 27, etc. and another space 10 to be closed with a hood 9, for accepting an engine-shaped eraser holder 11 implanted with a brush 12.
A paper clip 14 is formed integrally with a number plate 13 in a whole body and withdrawably inserted into a slit 15. Further, in the rear, an insertion slit 18 is provided for scicsors 17 having bumper-shaped members 16 formed integrally therewith. To the bottom surface of the body, a receiver 20 for receiving a scale 19 is attached.
The reverse side of the upper half 1 b is provided with a recess 22 for receiving a wheel-shaped measuring tape 21 and another recess 24 for receiving a small-sized stapler 23, as well as a chamber for accepting gem clips, etc. This chamber can be opened and closed with a lid 25 hingedly fixed.
When the automobile-shaped body 1 is driven forward with hand on a desk, etc., the rubber wheels 3 rotate and protrude the ballpoint pens 5 forward which are then readily drawn out manually. Returning of the pens to the body is done by simply inserting them into the tubes 2.
Since the stationery case of the present invention is formed in a model automobile shape, they are of ornamental value when placed on a desk. Further, writing utensils can be entirely housed in the case at the headlight positions and readily taken out of the case by manual driving.
While there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of the present invention, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that various alterations and modifications thereof can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the following claim.
