Abstract

A teeth flusher, comprising a rubber pump which has a cap with the provision for the installation of a hose and suction tube. The cap may have a flexible closer whereas the suction tube may contain a ball bearing. A tube pointed tip is preferably inserted in a coned nozzle which is attached to the rubber hose. When the pump is pressed, the flexible closer closes by itself to retain pressure which pushes up the liquid into the suction tube. The ball bearing maintains a one-way flow whereby the liquid is transmitted to the hose upon continuous pumping. Subsequently the liquid is injected to the nozzle and focussed through the outlet, the pointed tube. Thus the pressurised liquid helps to flush out the minute particles caught between the teeth and cavities.

Description

SAMPLE DESCRIPTION Title . Teeth Flusher Technical Field : This invention relates to a teeth flusher Background Art : The teeth flusher helps to keep the teeth clean by flushing out minute food particles that have been caught between teeth.
It serves the purpose of guggling and substitutes a more confined manner by injecting pressured water/liquid into the gaps and cavities of tooth at base level and not just the surface. During my observations, I noticed that teeth brushing helps about 85 to 90 per cent only for proper maintenance. However the balance could be achieved by flushing the teeth using the above-mentioned device. It is recommended to use at night before going to bed because while a person is asleep the blood circulation is slower thus the flow of natural anti-biotics is reduced and therefore the germs are stronger to set their attack on the teeth.
Suppose the teeth are well polished by brushing and flushing, there won't be any remains of food particles to invite the germs for attack.
Adolescents who experience the growth of wisdom tooth are generally affected more when food particles have better chances to be remained between the gaps of existing tooth and the newly growing tooth, nevertheless to mention between the edges of the soft gum also. People whose premolars and molars are not grown closely, do tend to suffer when munched food particles get stuck between their teeth. Frequent use of toothsticks do help sometimes but consequently damages the gum.
Ultimately, I feel that the most economical and technical solution is by flushing. It is medically recommended that tooth brushing should be carried out about twice a day. However certain teeth are either too sensitive or quite quickly worns out following this sequence. As such for these people they can do one brushing in the morning and one flushing in the evening. Quite unfortunately, people who use fork and spoon may not frequent to the wash basin for a mouth wash unlike those using bare hands to consume their meals. Thus for such people, teeth flushing becomes mandatory at least once a day.
Summary of Invention : This device is quite similar to the device used by dentists during scal ing of st ained tooth and which is powered mechanically. Whereas the above-said invention is designed as a household item which can be used everyday by manual operation. Since it does not require any professional expertise, young and old can use it.
Technical Features The teeth flusher consist of a flexible rubber container which can be manipulated by pressing the fingers against the palm while in holding position. It is designed to hold a very mild lukewarm solution of salt and water (saline) or preferably diluted listerine of a minimum capacity of about 100ml. It has a externallythreaded opening whereby the injection hose could be connected via a coupling of internally threaded opening fitted to the hose. The diameter of opening is about 15m. The container is vertically oval in shape and has a flat base. It acts like a pump when pressed to jet out the contents. The coupling is like a cab made of plastic of about l9mm diameter which is sufficient to cover the opening tightly. The injection hose is round about half metre (0.5m) length, diameter is about 5mm, of translucent texture and is very flexible to facilitate free movements.
When one end of the hose is installed with coupling, the other end is fitted with a nozzle which is cone-shaped and holds a stainless steel hollow pointing of lmm diameter and 3.5mm length. The coned nozzle is fitted with the stainless steel pointing at one side and the other side it accommodates the connection for the injection hose. Consideration was given whether the stainless steel pointing should be covered with soft sponch to prevent any injury to gum during the flushing process.
Consequently the idea was shelved because the pointing helps to penetrate deeper into the gaps. However the effluent edges of the pointing shall be grinded to prevent sharpness. The other end of the injection hose from the coupling downwards to the base of the pump is made of plastic and a bulb is created to hold a ball bearing which controls one way flow of liquid. The coupling/cover shall have a valve to monitor pressure.
Eventually the cap (cover) becomes a union' coupling for the soft rubber hose and the hard plastic.
Specific Example : The teeth flusher consists of a rubber pump (Fig 1), which conveys liquid upon pressure through the medium a rubber hose (Fig 2) connected to the pump vide a cap (Fig 3). At the other end of the rubber hose is affixed a nozzle which has a stainless steel pointer tip (Fig 4) for injecting the liquid to effect the flushing upon concentrated force.
