Abstract

Apparatus for use in playing a game which is activated for play by acceptance of a token, includes a laser emitter (9) and receiver (10) therefor, and the token (12, 19) includes a laser readable code (5) similar to that found on a "compact disc" so as to reduce the chances of mistakes or fraud.
