Description

22305 35 SHOOTING DEVICE FOR MOULDING MACHINES This invention relates to a
machine for the production of foundry moulds and cores, preferably a core shooting machine. The invention can be used in the foundry industry.
In order to prevent the core sand from trickling out of the shooting head of a core shooting machine, especially in the case of fine sand, it is known to use labyrinths in the discharge region of the shooting pallet. One disadvantage here is the fact that the labyrinths situated in the shot path obstruct the flowability of the core sand, thereby making it difficult to fill the core box.
Another known way of preventing uncontrolled or undesired outflow of the core moulding material is to arrange suction points on the shooting head cover which.produce a negative pressure in the shooting head. The disadvantage of this is that negative pressure must be applied to the entire shooting head. Particularly in the case of shooting heads which. after the shooting process, are in a sand receiving position different from the shooting - 2 position and are therefore necessarily open, the moulding material can only be prevented from trickling out by increasing the suction capacity.
0 In contrast to this,, the solution provided by the present invention allows for a reduction in the losses of moulding material, a reduction in cleaning cost operations and a saving of compressed air.
The object of the invention is to provide a shooting device for moulding machines, especially core shooting machines, which prevents the uncontrolled outflow of core or moulding sand, is self-cleaning and ensures ventilation of the upper core and mould contour.
is This problem is solved according to the invention in that an insert is arranged in the shooting channel of the shooting head of the shooting device. The insert is preferably designed as a cylinder or plate and consists of a fine-pored material.
Preferably, the channels are connected to a system for the supply or discharge of compressed air. Compressed air or negative pressure can thus be provided at the shooting head pallet as required. After completion of the shooting process, clean release of the shooting head from the core or moulding box is achieved and the shooting head pallet is cleaned automatically.
The invention will now be described in more detail,, by way of example only. with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a sectional view of a shooting device according to the invention.
In the illustrated arrangement,, there is shown a shooting device arranged on the upper part of a known core shooting machine (not shown) which will not be described further. The shooting device consists of a shooting cylinder (not shown) and a shooting head 1,, having a blowing plate 2 on its underside. A shooting channel 3 is situated centrally in the shooting head 1. An insert 4 is arranged in the shooting channel 3, said insert being designed either as a cylinder or as a plate and consisting of a porous material. Several channels 5 are situated in the insert 4. these being connected to a system for the supply or discharge of compressed air 6.
Before the commencement of the shooting process,, compressed air is directed via the system for the supply or discharge of compressed air 6 through the channels 5 into the insert 4 and any sand residue is removed from the shooting head opening 7. In this process,, core box 8 is already'pressed against the shooting head opening 7 and into the shooting position.
is The shooting process then follows. Shortly before the completion of the shooting process, the insert 4 is connected via the system for the supply or discharge of compressed air 6 to a discharge air line, thereby achieving ventilation of the upper core contour. Before 20 the beginning of the release of the shooting head 1 and the core box 8, negative pressure is provided via the system for the supply or discharge of compressed air 6, this operating until the end of the release process.
c c - 5 Clean release is effected at the separating point in this manner. In addition, no core sand trickles out. Separate cleaning of the blowing plate 2 or the top of the core box 8 is no longer necessary.
