Abstract

225,699. Alliott, E. A., and Manlove, Alliott & Co., Ltd. Nov. 26, 1923. Ironing-machines with rollers rotating against concave surfaces, heating-arrangements for. - The inner surfaces of the heated hollow beds, particularly of Decoudun machines, are provided with a series of ribs or projections or both so as to form a plurality of grooves or pockets to increase the heat transference from such beds. The inevention is described with especial reference to machines heaving beds comprising a number of connected chambers such as those described in Specification 17917/06. Fig. 1 shows the bed provided with a series of transverse ribs 1. Gaps are left in the ribs at desired intervals, or stops are provided in the channels 2 formed between the ribs to assist in the discharge of water of condensation. In Fig. 5 the bed is ribbed longitudinally and, in other forms, not shown, intersecting series of ribs may be. provided.
