Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to a system for actuating a mold consisting of two parts forming two mold halves hinged to each other.
Background
It is known to manufacture moulds consisting of two halves or two halves, in particular for injection moulding machines or blow moulding machines.
Generally, each mold half is mounted on a carrier, moved one toward the other, and held parallel to each other.
Systems have been known for a long time, in particular as described in french patents FR2059446 and FR2088523 or FR2793722, in which the half-moulds are hinged about a hinge-forming axis and are controlled between an open position and a closed position by a moving carriage that performs a reciprocating movement.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention relates to a system for actuating a mold consisting of two halves forming two half-molds, characterized in that each half-mold is also articulated to a rotary member rotating about an axis, the rotary member being moved by means of at least one actuating connecting rod, the two ends of the actuating connecting rod being articulated to the rotary member and to a mobile carriage, respectively.
According to one embodiment, each half-mould is hinged to the rotary member by means of at least one connecting rod, while the actuating links of the rotary members of the half-moulds are hinged to a common mobile carriage, in particular in the latter case, the mobile carriage is constituted, for example, by a crosspiece slidingly mounted on at least two guide rails, the actuating links being hinged to said crosspiece.
The mobile carriage is preferably reciprocated by at least one roller cooperating with a cam, for example, arranged on a rod mounted rotatably about a fixed axis fixed with respect to the pivot axis of the rotating member of the half-mould.
Advantageously, in the closed position of the half-moulds, the longitudinal axes of the connecting rods arranged between said half-moulds and the rotary members are substantially aligned on a line connecting the pivots of said rotary members.
With this arrangement, the mold halves are locked to each other in the closed mold position without the need for additional complementary parts.
The invention also relates to a set of moulds, each provided with a starting system such as the one described above, characterised in that the moulds are arranged in a circular or circular arc, the mobile carriage being moved by means of a plurality of rollers cooperating with a common cam, the moulds being moved relatively with respect to the cam.
According to one embodiment the moulds are fixed to a member rotating around a common cam fixed in place, but it is also possible to design the fixed moulds and a cam moving according to a rotary motion.
Drawings
The invention will be better understood with reference to the attached drawings and non-limiting examples.
The attached drawings are as follows:
FIGS. 1 and 2 are perspective views of the start-up system of the present invention with the molds in the open and closed positions, respectively;
FIGS. 3 and 4 are top views of the actuation system shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, and partially showing the actuation cam;
FIG. 5 is a top view of a die set having a plurality of dies, each die being provided with an actuating system controlled by a common cam.
Detailed Description
As shown in the figures, the starting system of the invention is used to start a mould 1 consisting of two parts forming two half-moulds 1', 1 "hinged to each other about a shaft 2 forming a hinge.
Each half-mould 1', 1 "is articulated by means of a connecting rod 3a, 3b to a rotary member 4a, 4b, the rotary members 4a, 4b being mounted rotatably about an axis 5a, 5 b.
Each rotating member 4a, 4b is controlled in rotation by an actuating link 6a, 6b, which is hinged at both ends to said rotating member 4a, 4b and to a mobile carriage 7, respectively.
The carriage 7 is constituted by a cross-brace slidably mounted on two guide rails 8a, 8b, on which one end of the actuating links 6a, 6b is hinged.
Thus, with the reciprocating movement of the carriage 7, it goes from the open mold position shown in fig. 1 and 3 to the closed mold position shown in fig. 2 and 4 and vice versa.
In practice, the movement of the carriage 7 causes the rotation of the rotating elements 4a, 4b by means of the actuating links 6a, 6b, so that the mold is closed or opened by the action of the connecting rods 3a, 3b on the half-molds 1', 1 ", the movement of the pivots 2, 5a, 5b being fixed with respect to the carriage 7.
For operating the carriage 7, a push-pull rod 9 is provided, the push-pull rod 9 being articulated at one end to said carriage and at the other end to a rod 10, the rod 10 being mounted so as to rotate about an axis 11 and being provided with a roller 12, the axis 11 being fixed with respect to the pivots 5a, 5b of the rotary members 4a, 4 b.
The roller 12 is intended to cooperate with a cam 13, partially shown in figures 3 and 4.
Depending on the position of the roller 12 on the cam 13, the mould can be opened (see fig. 3) or closed (see fig. 4), the roller moving along the trajectory 14 shown in fig. 3 and 4.
The roller 12 and the cam 13 perform relative movement with each other. For example, the cam 13 moves with respect to the support of the mould 1 constituted by the fixed shafts 5a, 5b, 2, or the mould and its actuating system components move with respect to the fixed cam 13.
As shown in particular in fig. 2 and 4, in the mold closed position, the longitudinal axes of the connecting rods 3a, 3b are substantially aligned on a line connecting the pivots 5a, 5b of the rotary members 4a, 4b, or said axes 5a, 5b are substantially on the same plane as the plane on which the hinging axes of the connecting rods 3a, 3b lie.
In fact, in this position, the axis of articulation of the rotary members 4a, 4b with the connecting rods 3a, 3b may be slightly beyond the line connecting the pivots 5a, 5 b.
In this way, the mold is kept locked not only by the pressure exerted by the carriage, but also by the geometry of the actuation system that interferes with the opening of the mold without the carriage 7 being retracted.
Fig. 5 shows a mold set with twelve molds 1a to 11, each provided with an actuating system such as that shown in fig. 1 to 4, for example for blowing hollow articles, such as bottles, from thermoplastic preforms.
As shown in fig. 5, the moulds 1a to 11 are arranged in a circle, in the centre of which a common cam 13 is arranged, the cam 13 being here fixedly arranged.
The pivots 2, 5a, 5b and the pivot 11 of the lever 10 are arranged in a fixed manner, for example on a platform, not shown, which rotates with respect to the cam 13, like the guides 8a, 8b on which the carriage 7 moves (obviously, it is possible to design a movable cam and several fixed moulds, as previously described).
The shape of the cam is chosen to suit the variation of the angular position of the die or dies with the cam 13, performing either opening (1a, 1b) or closing (1c to 1l) as shown in figure 5.
