The present invention concerns a device for... shuttleless textile fabrics, intended for the insertion of the weft thread ends cut at the selvedge, of the type comprising an angularly movable member for folding and inserting the end of a weft thread, already folded and constrained in the closed shed, into the still open shed, and further comprising a thread clamping member movable in relation to the warp threads for retaining the end of the weft thread before it is gripped by the aforementioned member.

A device of the type indicated, which can also be applied at a later time to shuttle-less textile looms, is already known. Its operation together with the actuation of its individual parts is described in the German Patent Application No. OS 27 05 686 of the same Applicant. With the aim of improving the known device with a view to a greater actuation speed for the adaptation of the device and its connection to the

The aim of the present invention is therefore to provide a device of the specified type in which, without having to resort to complete actuation means for the thread tightening member, a safe introduction of the end of the weft thread, held by the thread tightening member, into the action zone of the insertion needle is guaranteed so as to be gripped by the latter, even at high actuation speeds of the device.

In view of this purpose, the invention provides a di ! ? "7 !device of the specified type, the essential characteristic of which lies in the fact that next to the thread clamping member there is a movable pressure foot 7 I from a position of T?POB above the clamping area of the thread clamping member against the action of a return spring and UPB working position, in which it presses the terminal section of the weft thread, held in the clamping area, in the direction opposite to the trajectory of the angular movement of the needle. In the device, object of the invention, the actuation of the thread clamping member does not require any variation. In fact, it is a purely rectilinear movement of the thread clamping member, which therefore guarantees safe operation. The introduction of the end of the weft thread, held in the clamping area, into the area is produced by the added pressure foot, which pushes the terminal section of the weft thread in the area of the trajectory of the angular movement of the echo. The pressure foot does not require complicated operating means. According to the invention, it can be attached to a longitudinally movable supporting rod and mounted at the appropriate distance parallel to another rod supporting a movable jaw for clamping the clamping member, within a common frame, movable parallel to the warp threads.
