BACKGROUND OF CHECKERS: The board game called Checkers in North America and Draughts (pronounced as drafts) in Europe is one of the oldest games known to man. The history of checkers can be traced to the very cradle of civilization. Checkers requires a lot of strategy to be good at, but little to play.
The object is simple enough, move your pieces across the board, jumping opposing pieces. First to clear the board of their opponent's pieces wins, but the strategy involved goes so much deeper. You have to analyze every move an opponent makes, where will they move next? What will happen if they jump this piece? How can I get a double jump from this next move? Which jump is my best option? There are so many questions you have to ask yourself and so many possible outcomes that 5 it's mind boggling. Thinking so logically at this rate kicks your brain into overdrive and will force critical thinking. Children who are exposed to playing checkers at an early age tend to show more potential in school.
BACKGAMMON: Pieces are raised slightly above the playing area and do not damage/abrade the board apparatus. This has the advantage that it enables ease of movement and reduces noise when transferring pieces.
Thus, the present invention provides a unique game board apparatus used to produce outdoor and indoor traditional board games such as chess and checkers created as one combined unit for placement in parks, playgrounds, prisons, corporate environments, bars and hotels. Made of galvanized/powder coated or/and painted steel - cast iron/premium and medical grade stainless steel and/or all weather aluminum initially. All weather game pieces are interchangeable yet permanently fixed to the playing area baseboard.
These products will improve leisure options for a global demographic. The game apparatus is revolutionary due to its design and functionality. Permanent game sets can be set in outdoor and indoor locations without the need to remove them from their situate.
