Abstract
Description
(1) 近位端及び遠位端並びに内部を通る少なくとも1つの内腔を有する細長いカテーテル本体と、前記カテーテル本体の前記遠位端のバスケット形状の電極アセンブリと、を備えるカテーテルであって、前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリが複数のスパインを備え、前記複数のスパインがそれらの遠位端で接続されており、各スパインが、複数の電極を備え、前記カテーテル本体の前記内腔を通って前記近位端まで延在し、各スパインが独立して制御されている、カテーテル。
(2) 各スパインが、前記カテーテル本体に対する長手方向位置を調節することによって独立して制御されている、実施態様1に記載のカテーテル。
(3) 前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリは、前記スパインの各々が前記カテーテル本体によって拘束されていない長さを有する半径方向に外向きに弓状に曲がる拡張された構成と、前記スパインが前記カテーテル本体の長手方向軸に概ね沿って配置される折り畳まれた構成と、を有する、実施態様1に記載のカテーテル。
(4) 前記折り畳まれた構成にあるとき、各スパインが前記カテーテル本体に対して後退した位置にある、実施態様3に記載のカテーテル。
(5) 前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリが前記拡張された構成にあるとき、前記スパインの各々は、前記拘束されていない長さを増加させるように比較的より遠位に位置付けられると、より大きい程度まで外向きに弓状に曲がるように構成されている、実施態様3に記載のカテーテル。
(7) 各スパインが近位端にアクチュエータを備える、実施態様1に記載のカテーテル。
(8) 各アクチュエータが、リード線を前記スパイン上の前記電極に連結するためのコネクタを備える、実施態様7に記載のカテーテル。
(9) 各スパインが形状記憶材料を含む、実施態様1に記載のカテーテル。
(10) 体腔をマッピングするための方法であって、
近位端及び遠位端並びに内部を通る少なくとも1つの内腔を有する細長いカテーテル本体と、前記カテーテル本体の前記遠位端のバスケット形状の電極アセンブリと、を提供することであって、前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリが複数のスパインを備え、前記複数のスパインがそれらの遠位端で接続されており、各スパインが、複数の電極を備え、前記カテーテル本体の前記内腔を通って前記近位端まで延在する、ことと、
前記カテーテルの前記遠位端を前記体腔内に導入することと、
前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリを、前記スパインが前記カテーテル本体の長手方向軸に概ね沿って配置される折り畳まれた構成から、前記スパインの各々が前記カテーテル本体によって拘束されていない長さを有する拡張された構成に拡張することと、
前記スパインの前記電極の少なくとも一部分と前記体腔を形成する組織との間の接触を増加させるように前記スパインのうちの少なくとも1つを独立して制御することと、
前記組織と接触している前記電極の前記少なくとも一部分から受信された電気データを記録することと、を含む、方法。
(12) 前記スパインが、前記拡張された構成にあるときに、半径方向外向きに弓状に曲がる、実施態様10に記載の方法。
(13) 前記スパインのうちの少なくとも1つを独立して制御することが、前記拘束されていない長さを増加させ、前記少なくとも1つのスパインをより大きい程度まで外向きに弓状に曲げるように、前記少なくとも1つのスパインを比較的より遠位に位置決めすることを含む、実施態様12に記載の方法。
(14) 前記スパインのうちの少なくとも1つを独立して制御することが、前記拘束されていない長さを減少させ、前記少なくとも1つのスパインをより小さい程度まで外向きに弓状に曲げるように、前記少なくとも1つのスパインを比較的より近位に位置決めすることを含む、実施態様12に記載の方法。
(15) 前記体腔が心房である、実施態様10に記載の方法。
Claims (9)
- 近位端及び遠位端並びに内部を通る少なくとも1つの内腔を有する細長いカテーテル本体と、前記カテーテル本体の前記遠位端のバスケット形状の電極アセンブリと、を備えるカテーテルであって、前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリが複数のスパインを備え、前記複数のスパインがそれらの遠位端で接続されており、各スパインが、複数の電極を備え、前記カテーテル本体の前記内腔を通って前記近位端まで延在し、各スパインが独立して制御されている、カテーテル。
- 各スパインが、前記カテーテル本体に対する長手方向位置を調節することによって独立して制御されている、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリは、前記スパインの各々が前記カテーテル本体によって拘束されていない長さを有する半径方向に外向きに弓状に曲がる拡張された構成と、前記スパインが前記カテーテル本体の長手方向軸に概ね沿って配置される折り畳まれた構成と、を有する、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記折り畳まれた構成にあるとき、各スパインが前記カテーテル本体に対して後退した位置にある、請求項3に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリが前記拡張された構成にあるとき、前記スパインの各々は、前記拘束されていない長さを増加させるように比較的より遠位に位置付けられると、より大きい程度まで外向きに弓状に曲がるように構成されている、請求項3に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記バスケット形状の電極アセンブリが前記拡張された構成にあるとき、前記スパインの各々は、前記拘束されていない長さを減少させるように比較的より近位に位置付けられると、より小さい程度まで外向きに弓状に曲がることができる、請求項3に記載のカテーテル。
- 各スパインが近位端にアクチュエータを備える、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 各アクチュエータが、リード線を前記スパイン上の前記電極に連結するためのコネクタを備える、請求項7に記載のカテーテル。
- 各スパインが形状記憶材料を含む、請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
