[Prior art] Conventionally, even when a water-based rust-preventive paint forms a coating film having good rust-preventive performance, the coating film adheres to an object to be coated at an edge portion or a convex portion of rusted skin due to a tide phenomenon. In many cases, the film thickness was reduced and the rust prevention property was reduced. In particular, water-based paints have a disadvantage that they occur more easily than organic solvent-based paints.

Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. Sho 62-62
JP-A-49127 discloses an example in which a silicon resin-based paint containing scaly minerals is used to cover the edge of the wall of a microwave oven. In addition, as a mixture of a water-based paint and a scaly extender, a corrosion-resistant coating film is formed by using a paint in which a scaly glass flake is blended with a cross-linkable water-soluble paint resin as disclosed in JP-A-62-106970. There is disclosure to do.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] When a silicone resin is used as the above resin component, it is a heat-resistant paint which is an organic solvent-based paint and cannot be applied to a water-based paint as it is. In other words, since the surface tension of an aqueous paint is higher than that of an organic solvent, a tide phenomenon is likely to occur at an edge portion or a convex portion, so that the coating film becomes thinner and often cannot be sufficiently coated. In the case of using flaky glass flakes, the coating does not adhere evenly at the edges and projections, and the coating property is not sufficient, so that the degree of improvement in rust prevention is not easy.

Inorganic fillers are usually rust-proof pigments, carbon black,
It is composed of a coloring pigment such as bengara and an extender such as calcium carbonate, talc, clay, barium sulfate, mica, zinc white, and aluminum phosphate. A scaly filler is mainly used as the extender pigment. In particular, it is necessary that the flaky filler accounts for 50% by weight or more of the inorganic filler in order to enhance rust prevention.

By containing 50% by weight or more of this flaky filler,
A coating film containing an inorganic filler can enhance coatability. As the scaly filler, two types of fillers, a first filler having a particle size of 7 μm or more and a second filler having a particle size of 7 μm or less, are used in combination. By using a filler having a particle size of 7 μm as a boundary, the filling property of the inorganic filler in the coating film can be enhanced, and the coverage of the casting surface can be enhanced.

By using a mixture of two types of flaky first filler having a large particle size and flaky second filler having a small particle size, the filling property of the filler in the coating film is improved, and the planar coating surface is improved. The surface of the casting can be covered in the same manner as described above. Therefore, the coating formed by this coating has improved rust resistance.

These seven types of paints were applied to the casting surface of the casting test piece by air spray so as to have a film thickness of 40 μm as an object to be applied. The cured film after drying was subjected to a complex environmental cycle test (cycle of spraying with salt water → drying with hot air → salt water immersion → room temperature standing) to determine the number of cycles until the area of rust generated on the surface became 5%. The results are shown in the table.

When filler is included, the scale of Comparative Example No.4 which does not contain flake filler has improved rust prevention.
In particular, the addition of No. 3 thixotropic agent further improves the rust prevention. Further, the flaky fillers of Nos. 5 and 6 having only one of the large and small particle sizes have insufficient improvement in rust prevention. Furthermore, no improvement in rust prevention was observed even in No. 7, which did not contain the flaky filler and added the thixotropic agent.
