この場合、加工代を変更するといっても、0.5mm程度で
あるので、出来上ったものを目視で判別するのは困難で
ある。それで、切削加工完了時に、判別のペンキを一部
に塗布したり、判別の打刻を施したりしており、面倒で
ある。同様にシリンダーについても、二サイクルエンジ
ンの場合、排気孔端の上端位置が排気タイミングを定
め、エンジン性能を大きく変える。排気孔上端も、0.5m

削加工し、ガスケットを挾んでシリンダー上面に重合し
て締着により一体化する。従って、切削加工面4をt寸
法だけ余分に削るか削らないかによって、燃焼室3の容
積を変えることができ、圧縮比を変えてエンジン性能の
異る二種のものができる。しかして本発明は、切削加工
面4の側方4に、先端が切削加工面4より下方に突出し
た突起5を鋳造時に一体鋳造して設ける。すなわち、シ
リンダーヘッド1の切削加工面(接合面)4を、該加工
面4に対する切削工具の移動範囲が小範囲Bと該小範囲
Bを包含する大範囲Aの大小2段階に設定する一方、該
シリンダーヘッド1に前記加工面4とは独立した側方箇
所であって、前記小範囲Bの切削加工範囲から外れると
ともに、大範囲Aの切削加工範囲内に判別マークとなる
突起5を鋳造一体に設けた。そして、切削加工面4を切
削加工するとき、t寸法加工代の大きいときは、A範囲
切削加工して、突起5の先端を同時切削し、t寸法がな
