For example, various other purposes of addition include improving the dispersibility in the oral cavity to improve the feeling of use, improving the slip and facilitating extrusion from the tube, improving the water retention of the dentifrice, and extruding the toothbrush. In order to improve shape retention when extruding, to improve skin gloss when extruded, etc., the required functions and properties are easy handling, easy dissolution, and sterility during toothpaste manufacturing. After production, rot resistance, chemical resistance, ease of washing, tasteless odor and the like are required.

There is a technique in which an alkali salt of carboxymethyl cellulose having a degree of etherification of 2.0 or more is used as a binder (JP-A-59-13740).

However, the disadvantages of the binder according to this technique are poor skin gloss, poor rot resistance and chemical resistance, high cost of drying, and the like, so that this binder is also unsuitable for practical use.

It is also characterized in that sodium (hereinafter abbreviated as CMC) is used in combination as a binder.

As described in Japanese Patent Application No. 1-289164, MFC in a state of being wetted with water, which can be handled as a powder which is not substantially re-blocked.
That is. For powdery and granular MFCs, the dispersion concentration of the MFC can be reduced to 10-60% by filter press or other means.
It is a MFC that can be dehydrated to a certain degree and then handled as a non-reblockable powder obtained by pulverization. When used as a dentifrice binder, the solid concentration as MFC is desirably about 20 to 50%. If the solid content concentration is 20% or less, it is difficult to obtain a powdery or granular MFC that does not reblock, and furthermore, the amount of mixed water increases, and the degree of freedom in dentifrice prescription becomes extremely small. .

Excellent toothpaste can be obtained. If a CMC of DS2.0 or less is used, it becomes an unsatisfactory binder in functions such as slipping, skin gloss, rot resistance and chemical resistance. The mixing ratio of MFC and CMC is preferably MFC / CMC = 1/5 to 4/1.
