Cleaning and flattening by polishing are required. In the case of a new train line, a considerable amount of time is required from the installation to the start of traveling, so it is usual to form a rust-preventive coating in advance. In this case, polishing for removing the coating is required over the entire length of the train line.

As shown in FIG. 3, a driving motor m is built in, a sand belt is wound around a driving wheel d and a driven wheel f, and left and right handles are provided so as to be supported by both hands. Although this unit could be used to polish the ground line, it was problematic to use it for polishing the line above. This is because the work of supporting this upward with both hands and pressing it against the upper train line requires heavy labor that cannot be tolerated by the worker.

This vehicle supports both side plates that can be raised and lowered within a certain range, and these both side plates are always pushed upward by an attached spring. A commercially available polishing unit is mounted between the two side plates.

One handle of the polishing unit is locked between the side plates so as to be pulled by the polishing wheel. The other tab bolts the spring receiving plate engaged therewith to the bridge plate between both side plates with bolts.
These bolts are left and right two arranged at right angles to the side plate,
By adjusting the access of the polishing unit, the inclination of the polishing unit can be adjusted.

The polishing wheel used for this polishing is composed of the following members. The rectangular top plate 1 is provided with a U-shaped protrusion 1a on the center line, and the U-shaped protrusion supports the upper roller 2 that can roll on the train line T back and forth. A horizontal roller 3 is also supported on the top plate by a pair of left and right symmetric vertical shafts, which sandwich the upper side of the train line T from the left and right to guide the moving direction of the top plate. The grinding wheel may be moved by hand, but FIG. 1 illustrates an example in which a motor M is mounted on the protrusion 1a and one upper roller 2 is driven. The leg plate 4 is in the form of a strip, and is fixed and suspended with bolts 5 on both side ends of the top plate 1.
There is. The side plate 6 is supported by the top plate with a pin 6a implanted in the side plate 6 engaged with the elongated hole 4a, and can be moved up and down along the elongated hole 4a. A pair of front and rear shafts 7 are respectively supported by both side plates 6 and rotatably support a lower roller 8 at the center thereof, which can be brought into contact with the lower surface of the train line T. The top plate has a screw shaft 9 symmetrically vertically
Is inserted, and the lower end thereof and the shaft 7 are connected by a spring 10.
When the screw shaft 9 is raised by the nut 11 screwed to the upper portion of the screw shaft, the side plate 6 is raised via a spring.

The retaining bar 15 freely penetrates the window of the handle 13, and both ends are locked on both side plates. The transfer board 16 connects the both boards at the lower part of the both boards. Handle
14 has a T-shaped end. One end of the spring receiving plate 17 is curled to lock the T-shaped portion, and the other end faces the lower surface of the transfer plate 16. The pair of left and right bolts 18 and 19 respectively penetrate the spring receiving plate 17 and the transfer plate 16 upward, and are screwed with the nut 20 fixed to the transfer plate. A spring 21 is inserted between the two plates. A paddle 16a is fixed to one end of the transfer plate 16. The height of the paddle 16a is adjusted so that the sand belt 12 is positioned substantially horizontally.

When the suspension point is reached, the grinding wheel is disassembled and reassembled at a position beyond the suspension point. By loosening the nut 11 to remove the spring 10 and the nut 5 to remove the leg plate 4 respectively, the whole grinding wheel can be divided up and down for two minutes.
There are no major difficulties in splitting or reassembling.
