Are piled up from below to form a large bundle T
It is a method of forming. In this case, since the normal printing book s has a back bag on one side, a large bundle T that is horizontally stacked in the same direction is used.
When this is formed, as shown by P in FIG. 10 (a), the side on the side of the back bag rises and becomes very unstable and easily collapsed. Therefore, usually, small bundles t are stacked side by side so that there is little swelling on the back bag side and it is easy to handle, and when stacking from the lower side, as shown in FIG. By performing an operation referred to as, the swelling on the back bag side is eliminated and the large bundle T is accumulated. In particular, in the case of a multi-page printing book or a cardboard printing book in which the swelling on the back bag side is conspicuous, such a frame return is usually performed.

More specifically, as shown in FIG. 12, printing books s conveyed from above or from below by the booklet conveying conveyor 1 are sequentially dropped onto the large bundle accumulating conveyor 2 and accumulated in a large bundle state. In this case, the vertical stacking state is maintained by the backing plate 3 which advances integrally with the large bundle accumulation conveyor 2.

In addition, especially for a multi-page booklet or a cardboard bookbook, it is inevitable to turn over the pieces for the above-mentioned reason. There is also a problem that it becomes necessary.

問題点がある。Further, in the latter vertical stacking method, there is an advantage that a large bundle T in which the direction of the prints s is constant can be obtained as compared with the former horizontal stacking method, but the prints s are directly dropped on the large bundle stacking conveyor 2. Therefore, when the number of printed books s to be handled is multi-page or when thick paper is used, the printed books s have a stiffness and can perform a somewhat favorable stacking operation. In the case of thin paper, it is difficult to perform the stacking operation by this method because the printing book s has no rigidity and is folded or bent during the stacking operation. As described above, there is a problem that the number of prints s that can be handled is limited in the current integration operation of directly forming a large bundle T.

Are collected in the small bundle forming section A in the state of the small bundle t. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the prints s continuously discharged in a sashimi form or partly separated on the belt conveyor 11 are accumulated on the elevating table 12 at the accumulation position. Here, the printed book s is a signature and has a back bag on one side. If too many copies are accumulated, the back bags overlap and easily collapse. A bundle t is set. Reference numeral 13 denotes a cut-off plate, which is lowered when a predetermined number of copies s pass, and stops the flow of the copies s for a short time. Then, the elevating table 12 on which the horizontally stacked small bundles t of the predetermined number of prints s are placed is lowered in this short time, and instead of this operation, the skewer blade 14 is extended. When the skewer blade 14 is extended, the cut-off plate 13 rises, and the printing book s flows again and starts to accumulate on the skewer blade 14. On the other hand, the lift 12 descends to the extruded position, and the small bundle t on the lift 12

The bundle t is firmly held while maintaining its alignment. When the small bundle t is sandwiched in this way, the stopper plate 24 becomes
Then, the small bundle rotating unit B is rotated by the rotation cylinder 26, and the small bundle t is in the vertical state as shown by the dotted line in FIG. Subsequently, as shown in FIG. 3, the small bundle rotating unit B is actuated by the lateral movement cylinder 27 and moves toward the large bundle forming unit C rightward in the figure.
Note that the lateral movement cylinder 27 can be slid up and down on the guide rail. When the small bundle rotating unit B moves toward the large bundle forming unit C, the vertical movement cylinder 29 of the small bundle rotating unit B simultaneously slides rightward on the guide rail 30.

Then, the operation of docking the small bundle t behind the large bundle T that is already held in the vertical stack is performed. Details at that time are shown in FIG. That is,
The small bundle t moves rightward in the figure while being held by the small bundle holding plates 21 and 23. At this time, the large bundle mounting table 47, which has a shape that fits well with the small bundle holding plates 21 and 23, Inserted below t. Further, the rear large bundle holding plates 45 and 46 also have a shape that fits well with the small bundle holding plates 21 and 23, and the small bundle holding plate 21 and the rear large bundle holding plate 45 fit together as shown in FIG. After that, a large bundle holding plate 45
On the contrary, the other rear large bundle holding plate 46 is lowered by the elevating cylinder 49 and set on the back side of the small bundle holding plate 23. Thereafter, the small bundle holding plate 23 on the movable side is moved to the left by the press cylinder 23 to release the small bundle t and, at the same time, deliver the end face of the small bundle t to the rear large bundle holding plate 46.
Here, the rear large bundle holding plates 45 and 46 have the moving chains 43 and 44 and the elevating cylinders 48 and 49, respectively, as described above, so that they can operate freely without interfering with each other. I have. Subsequently, as shown in FIG. 5, the small bundle rotating section B is lowered by the vertical movement cylinder 29, and the small bundle holding plates 21, 23 are pulled out downward. As a result, the small bundle t and the large bundle T are completely docked to form a new large bundle, and are held by the front large bundle holding plate 42 and the rear large bundle holding plate 46. After the small bundle rotating unit B descends, it is rotated by the rotating cylinder 26 to be in the state shown by the dotted line in FIG. 5, and then the horizontal moving cylinder 27 and the vertical moving cylinder 29 allow the small bundle to enter the predetermined position. Then, the abutment plate 24 comes out from below, and the state shown in FIG. 6 is obtained. On the other hand, the large bundle T moves rightward to a predetermined position while being held by the front large bundle holding plate 42 and the rear large bundle holding plate 46 for the introduction of the next small bundle t, and the other large back bundle holding plate 45 is replaced with this. Move to the left and stand by for the next small bundle t. As described above, the rear large bundle holding plates 45 and 46 are sequentially replaced with each small bundle t.

It is most desirable that the side of the back bag, which is one side of the printed book s, be down when the sheets are stacked. Therefore, in order to do this, it is necessary to advance the back bag side when introducing the small bundle t into the small bundle rotating unit B. Here, there is no problem if the printed book s is conveyed on the belt conveyor 11 in advance of the back bag side. However, in the case of a rotary press, the direction of the printed book s is different, and the printed book s is always in front of the back bag side. Not necessarily. Therefore, in another embodiment, as a mechanism for changing the direction after creating the small bundle t in the small bundle forming unit A, a direction changing unit D as shown in FIG. 7 is combined. This turning part D is
It is provided between the small bundle forming section A and the small bundle rotating section B, and has a turntable 51 and a gear 52 on the back side thereof. By performing the rotational movement in the direction of the arrow, the direction of the small bundle t sent from the small bundle forming unit A can be arbitrarily changed.

After being in the orientation state, the small bundles in the vertically oriented state are collected and held by the front large bundle holding plate and one of the pair of rear large bundle holding plates so as to be sequentially stacked into large bundles, In addition, since the pair of rear large bundle holding plates are shaped to fit into the small bundle holding plates, small bundles can be smoothly transferred between the small bundle forming unit and the large bundle forming unit, and small-page prints and thin paper sheets can be formed. Since the booklets can also be stacked vertically without folding or bending, it is possible to create a large bundle of vertically stacked sheets which is more desirable for all types of booklets.
