ーム4は対物レンズにより極限にまで絞られる。前記反
射光はピット3の形状によってその光量が変化し、これ
より情報が再生される。また、前記光ヘッド2は図示し
ない駆動系により光ディスク1の半径方向、即ち矢印5
又は6方向に移動され、所望のトラックにアクセスされ
る。

ズのNA値の制約があり、磁気ヘッドのような高速アク
セスは不可能であった。また、最近は光ビームを複数同
時に照射することにより、見掛けの転送速度を向上させ
たマルチビーム方式が実用化されているが、この方式で
は光ヘッドの重量が増すことになり、アクセス速度はか
えって低下するという結果を招いていた。
