せしめる必要があり、描画の全体像をあらかじめ把握し
空白領域を意識した分断された図形描画をあらかじめ行
う事が必要であり、描画操作の負担が大きかった。 本発明においては、これらの問題点を克服し、より安
易に描画図を作成できる装置を提供する事を目的とす
る。 [問題点を解決する為の手段] これらの問題を解決する為、本発明の略地図作成装置
は、道路、川、線路等の地図図形と、汎用的な文字・記
号等と、を含む種々の地図要素を合成して略地図を作成
する略地図作成装置であって、 前記地図要素の各々について、前記地図要素の属性に
基づいて複数の描画面から所定の描画面を選択しつつ前
記所定の描画面上に前記地図要素を描画する選択描画手
段と、 前記複数の描画面中の、少なくとも地図図形を描画し
た描画面を含む一部の選択された描画面に対して空白領
域を設定し、該領域に相当する前記選択された描画面上
の前記地図要素を空白化する選択描画面空白領域設定手
段と、 前記空白領域においては前記選択された描画面上の前
記地図要素を空白化し前記選択された描画面以外の描画
面上の前記地図要素を表示するようにして、前記複数の

る川描画装置と、鉄道地下鉄・トンネル等複数種類の鉄
道を直線または曲線で描画する鉄道描画装置と、歩道橋
を描画する歩道橋描画装置と、これらの道路・川・鉄道
・地下鉄・トンネル・歩道橋の交差する部分を交差点と
して、各々の道路・川・鉄道・地下鉄・トンネル・歩道
橋を個別に平面交差あるいは立体交差せしめ、交差点形
状を作成する交差点描画装置と、各々の道路・川・鉄道
・地下鉄・トンネルの終端の形状を半円・四角・三角等
複数の形状に変形する終端描画装置とにより構成される
道作成手段により1つの面に道路・川・鉄道・地下鉄・
トンネル・歩道橋およびその交差点と終端の描画を行
う。 また略地図作成の為に道路・川・鉄道・地下鉄トンネ
ル・歩道橋・交差点以外の形状を作成する為の円・多角
形・直線・曲線等基本的な図形を複数の線分幅で作成す
る図形描画装置と、地図上の1点を指定する為の複数形
状の矢印を作成する矢印描画装置と、描画された線に囲
まれた内部を複数の形状で塗り潰す中塗り装置とにより
構成される図形作成手段により1つの面に各種の図形を
描画し、中塗りを行う。 そして、地図上に文字を書く文字描画編集装置と、地
図記号を地図上に記入する地図記号描画装置とにより構
成される文字記述手段により、1つの面にこれらを記述
する。 そして、カーソルの動きに従い移動軌跡を地図上に書
き込む軌跡描画装置による軌跡描画手段とによりを有
し、1つの面にビットパターンで記述する。 そらに道作成手段・図形作成手段・文字記述手段・軌

文字描画編集装置20におくられ、表示座標解析装置5に
より解析された座標データは、各々の装置の所定の処理
に使用される。 道作成手段8においては、その専用平面に道路描画装
置10により各種道路を、川描画装置13により各種川を、
鉄道描画装置11により各種鉄道を、歩道橋描画装置14に
より歩道橋を描画し、交差点描画装置9により、これら
の交差点を描画し終端描画装置12によりこれらの終端形
状を描画する。 また図形作成手段15においては、その専用平面に図形
描画装置16により直線・曲線・円・四角形とうの図形を
各種の線で描画し、矢印描画装置17において複数形状の

塗り装置18により複数のパターンで塗り潰す。 そして、文字記述手段19においては、その専用平面に
文字描画編集装置20により所定の座標位置に入力された
