A method and apparatus for sterilizing a bathtub water purification filter having a remote controller that provides a hot water supply line in the middle of a circulation line connecting the circulation pump and the bathtub. A high-temperature water supply pipe is connected to a heat source having a hot water supply function, and after confirming that the heat source having the hot water supply function is not supplying hot water to a bathtub other than the bathtub, the hot water from the heat source is discharged from the heat source. In addition to supplying the gas to the middle of the circulation pipe, the outlet temperature of the heat source device having the hot water supply function is set to 60 ° C. or more in conjunction with the switching of the valve means.
