When performing the peeling operation of the masking member by hand, it is easy to damage the edge of the intermediate coating or top coating applied surface that is in contact with the masking member, and it takes a long time until the coating of the intermediate coating or top coating is dried. Had to be dried. Also, even when the coating surface of the intermediate coating or the top coating is sufficiently dried, the peeling of the masking member causes the end thereof to be damaged or a step to be formed in a portion abutting on the masking member, resulting in a good-looking appearance. Could not get.

It had to be dried for a long time until the coated surface became dry. Also, when the masking member is peeled off after the color-coded coating, there has been a problem in appearance such as damage or breakage of the coating surface edge or occurrence of a step as described above.

Since the top coat is applied after the marking material is applied, the marking material is buried in the top coating layer, and it is extremely difficult to peel off the masking member by hand, and a step is likely to occur between the applied surface and the marking material. At the same time, there is a problem that the work requires a long time. This tendency is particularly remarkable in a marking material which is stamped into various characters, figures, and the like for decoration purposes, and particularly in the case of a marking material made into a rose character or a rose figure. Further, in order to prevent damage to the coated surface and the edge when the masking member is peeled off, the coated surface has to be dried for a long time until the coated surface dries.

It requires a strict heat treatment step on the premise of the stripping work, requires a long working time, increases the cost, and may have insufficient or non-uniform shrinkage.
Sometimes it was not enough. In addition, the heating may have an adverse effect such as blistering on the coated portion.

There is a problem in that wax and dust easily accumulate, and at the time of cleaning, a brush or the like is caught on a step portion and the applied surface is easily damaged.

As a method of applying the coating material used in the present invention, a method suitable for the adherend can be appropriately selected and used. Specifically, an air atomizing electrostatic coating method, a rotary atomizing electrostatic coating method, a spray An application method such as an application method or a brush application method can be used. Further, the paint to be applied is not particularly limited, but specifically, a liquid paint such as an acrylic paint, a urethane paint, or a vinyl chloride paint containing a certain amount of an organic solvent or an aqueous solvent. Can be used.

Since the peeling member fixed to the surface of the member protrudes, the peeling of the masking member can be easily realized by picking up the peeling member without damaging the coating layer, and no step is generated.

Since the adhesive force between the peeling member and the masking member is set to be larger than the contact (sticking) adhesive force between the marking material and the masking member, the masking member is peeled off from the marking material in a state of being fixed to the peeling member. . In this case, if the masking member is peeled off before the paint is dried, immediately after the masking member is peeled, even if there is a step on the application surface, the solvent in the paint is vaporized, and the paint shrinks and dries. In the process, since the paint still has fluidity, the step is eliminated. Also, after peeling off the masking member, to protect the surface of the marking material, to improve the aesthetic appearance, furthermore, when applying a color-coded coating, to maintain the smoothness of the painted surface, even if provided with a transparent protective layer good.

In this embodiment, a case where the marking material is attached to the body of an automobile will be described with reference to FIGS. The same applies to the case where only the masking member is used without using the marking material. Here, FIG.
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a coating procedure when a marking material is applied in the present embodiment, and FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram illustrating a state in which a peeling member is fixed on the marking material in the present embodiment. As the marking material 1, a laminate of application tape SCPM-3Y manufactured by Sumitomo 3M Limited on Scotch Cal # 3650 manufactured by Sumitomo 3M Limited, was punched into a character shape having a size of approximately 40 mm x 40 mm, and rose letters for decoration were used. Was used. The width of the line portion constituting the character was about 10 mm. The marking material 2 is made of vinyl chloride and an acrylic adhesive, and has a thickness of 80 μm. The masking member 3 is made of Japanese paper and a rubber adhesive, and has a thickness of 12 μm.
The thing of 0 μm was used. After the release material 4 has been removed, FIG.
As shown in (a), an adherend 6 in which a laminate of the marking material 2 and the masking member 3 is subjected to undercoating and intermediate coating is applied.
The marking material 2 was attached to the body of the automobile using a hand and a squeegee so as to be entirely flat.

As a result, as shown in FIG. 2 (d), the masking member 3 is peeled off without damaging the coating layer 9, and since the coating layer 9 is not completely dried, the coating remains fluid. As a result, the step immediately after the masking member was peeled was gradually reduced, and finally, the top coat layer 9 and the marking material 2 had substantially the same surface, and an appearance without a step could be obtained. Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 2E, a transparent protective layer 10 made of an acrylic resin was formed on the marking material 2 by spray coating and dried. Finally, a decoration having a beautiful appearance having no steps at the boundary between the top coat layer 9 and the marking material 2 could be applied to the vehicle body.

When applying a decorative coating, there is provided a coating method capable of obtaining a beautiful appearance without causing a step on a coating surface and performing a coating operation easily and inexpensively. In particular, in the case of a so-called embedded type in which a marking material is attached to a car body or the like that requires a top coat application, the present invention eliminates the difficulty of peeling work, and is easy and inexpensive, and has no beautiful steps. A decoration having an appearance can be applied to a vehicle body or the like.
