【発明の詳細な説明】 【0001】 【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、前面開口を有するハウ
ジングの後壁に後方に開口し且つ車体上下方向に延びる
溝部が形成され、該溝部内に水平方向に延びる補強用リ
ブが形成された車両用灯具に関するものである。 【0002】 【従来の技術】従来、斯かる車両用灯具としては、例え
ば、図3(A),(B)に示す様に、前面開口1aを有
するハウジング1の後壁1bに後方に開口し且つ車体上
下方向に延びる溝部1cが形成され、溝部1c内に水平
方向に延びる複数の補強用リブ1d,1d…が形成され
たものが知られている。図中、2は前面開口1aを閉成
するレンズ、3はハウジング1の前面側に開口する係合
溝1e内に設けられてレンズ2の脚部2aが当接するシ
ール材である。 【0003】尚、図示例の溝部1cは、ハウジング1の
一方の側縁部(車体内側)に位置していると共に、ハウ
ジング1の上縁部から他方の側縁部(車体外側)に跨っ
て形成されていて、ハウジング1の周縁部(下縁部を除
く)に付着した水滴は、この溝部1cによって下方へと
案内される。 【0004】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】ところで、上記の如く
構成された車両用灯具にあっては、溝部1cに案内され
た水滴は、図3(C)に示すように、一旦補強用リブ1
dの上面に水滴Wが溜った後に下方へと排水されるた
め、例えば、車体後方のトランクリッドに車両用灯具を
装着した場合、補強用リブ1dの上面に水滴Wが溜った
状態のままトランクリッドを開放すると、水滴Wがトラ
ンクルーム内に滴下してしまうという問題があった。 【0005】また、ハウジング1を射出成形した際に、
補強用リブ1dの存在により周囲との冷却速度に差がで
き、これにより補強用リブ1dが位置する後壁1bの前
面側にヒケができ易いという問題もあった。 【0006】本発明は、上記事情に鑑みなされたもので
あって、補強の役割を維持したまま水滴の案内排水を緩
やかに行うことで水滴の溜りを防止し得て、しかも、後
壁の前面側のヒケの発生を防止することができる車両用
灯具を提供することを目的とする。 【0007】 【課題を解決するための手段】その目的を達成するた
め、請求項1に記載の発明は、前面開口を有するハウジ
ングの後壁に後方に開口し且つ車体上下方向に延びる溝
部が形成され、該溝部内に水平方向に延びる複数の補強
用リブが形成された車両用灯具において、前記複数の
強用リブには幅方向にずれて位置するように切り欠きが
形成されていることを要旨とする。 【0008】 【作用】このような請求項1に記載の構成においては、
後方に開口し且つ車体上下方向に延びる溝部が前面開口
を有するハウジングの後壁に形成され、水平方向に延び
複数の補強用リブが溝部内に形成され、幅方向にずれ
て位置するように切り欠きが複数の補強用リブに形成さ
れる。 【0009】 【実施例】次に、本発明の車両用灯具の実施例を図面に
基づいて説明する。 【0010】図1(A),(B)において、車両用灯具
10は、前面開口11aを有するハウジング11と、ハ
ウジング11の周縁部に形成され且つ前面11b側に開
口する係合溝11c内に充填されたシール材12と、シ
ール材12に当接するように係合溝11c内に臨む脚部
13aを一体に有し且つ前面開口11aを閉成するレン
ズ13とを備えている。 【0011】ハウジング11の後壁11dには、後面1
1e側に開口し且つ車体上下方向に延びる溝部11fが
形成されている。また、溝部11f内には水平方向に延
びる複数の補強用リブ11g,11g…が形成されて
る。さらに、補強用リブ11g,11g…には後方に開
口する切り欠き11h,11h…が形成されている。 【0012】上記の構成において、溝部11fは、ハウ
ジング11の一方の側縁部(車体内側)に位置している
と共に、ハウジング11の上縁部から他方の側縁部(車
体外側)に跨って形成されていて、ハウジング11の周
縁部(下縁部を除く)に付着した水滴は、この溝部11
fによって下方へと案内される。 【0013】この際、切り欠き11h,11h…は、図
2に示すように、幅方向にずれた位置に形成され、これ
により溝部11f内を案内される水滴が矢印イで示すよ
うに蛇行して緩やかに下方へと案内される。 【0014】また、切り欠き11h,11h…が後壁1
1dの手前にまで形成されていることにより補強用リブ
11g,11g…の上面に水滴が溜り難くくなってい
る。 【0015】さらに、若干の補強用リブ11gが切り欠
き11h,11h…を形成している部分にも存在するた
め、図1(C)に示すように、切り欠き11h,11h
…を水滴が通過する際にこの存在が水滴が溜らない程度
のブレーキとなるため、水滴の案内をさらに緩やかに行
うことができる。 【0016】従って、後面11eに付着した水滴は、急
激に落下することなく緩やかに行うために車体側の排水
構造への負担を少なくすると共に、補強用リブ11gの
補強としての役割を維持したまま水滴の溜りを防止する
ことができ、しかも、ハウジング11を形成する際に補
強用リブ11gの冷却速度が速まり、周囲との差が少な
くなって補強用リブ11gが位置する部分の前面11b
でのヒケの発生を防止することができる。 【0017】また、切り欠き11hは後方に開口する事
なく、後壁11d寄りに形成された孔状の切り欠きでも
よい。 【0018】 【発明の効果】以上説明したように、本発明の車両用灯
具にあっては、補強用リブに切り欠きが形成されている
ことにより、補強の役割を維持したまま水滴の案内排水
を緩やかに行うことで水滴の溜りを防止し得て、しか
も、後壁の前面側のヒケの発生を防止することができ
る。
