A large number of signatures (a group of signatures) can be held inside the area surrounded by the bottom support plate and the side guides on both sides, and the signatures mounted on the mounting section are closer to the front end side in the transport direction. The signatures are sequentially extracted and conveyed one by one by the paper feed unit (vacuum method, signature extraction section by the jaw method), and the conveyed signatures eventually have their folds on the upper side and their open ends. With the section facing down, it is hung on a gathering chain (endless chain equipped with push claws at equal intervals) that is being fed, and one copy is fed from the signature feeder to the gathering chain. Are stacked in the order of a predetermined page on the signature that has been placed first, and are collated for each predetermined number of copies.

It is conveyed toward a sheet feeding section on the front end side in the conveyance direction by a conveyance section such as a belt conveyor-like feed mechanism arranged on the lower side of the mounting table, and the signature on the front end side is supported by a vertical support plate. The signature is sucked by the paper feed unit (vacuum suction unit of the paper feed unit), and the signatures are sequentially pulled out one by one from the front-end signature.

が大掛かりになったり、複雑になる等の問題があった。However, when the signatures that are generally used for bookbinding are stacked in a vertical position in a horizontal state, the so-called signatures have a weak waist, and therefore, due to the weight of the signatures. In a so-called vertical stack type signature supply device that bends easily and bends easily in a vertical position, the signatures are mounted in a vertical position in a horizontal state on a mounting part It is difficult to maintain the vertical position (upright position) and replenish (additional replenishment) without doing so, and it requires skill. Also, when replenishing, it is continuous to the trailing edge of the remaining signature in the mounting part. There is a problem that the delivery mechanism for performing the delivery and delivery of the replenishing signature becomes large and complicated.

There is a signature supply device, but in this case, since the signatures are placed and supplied in a horizontal state, a stack of folded signatures (a group of signatures)
Although the above-mentioned problem that the paper collapses during transportation is solved, the total load of the signature group is at the bottom because the copies are extracted one by one from the bottom of the accumulated signatures and supplied. Compared to the vertical stacking type, there is a problem that misfeed (supply failure) is more likely to occur due to the accumulated load, and the number of stacking sections on the stacking section is larger than that of the vertical stacking type signature feeder. However, there is a problem in terms of efficiency in that only a small number of signatures can be mounted and accommodated in the mounting section.

The purpose is to prevent the collapse of the signature group so that the signatures can be smoothly fed into the mounting section.

5 and both side guides 50, 50
And a conveying unit 30 for conveying the bundle of supply signatures 6 on the mounting unit 16 forward, and one by one from the opening 6a at the lower part of the front end support plate 14 in order from the signature 6 on the front end side in the conveying direction. In a signature supply device including a paper supply unit 18 for supplying paper, a predetermined number of supply signatures 7 placed in a horizontal posture or an inclined posture are transferred while being held and transferred while being converted to a vertical posture. The lower replenishing means 51 having the lower replenishing hand 54 for moving to the position, and the reciprocating reciprocal signature 7 in the moved vertical posture are received from the upper side in a suspended posture and are replenished on the mounting unit 16. An upper replenishing means 52 is provided, and a support part 40 that can be moved up and down and moved forward and backward is provided below the transfer part 30 for constantly holding the rear end part of the folded bundle in the transfer direction with a constant pressure from the rear side. This is a signature supply device.

Disturbance can be avoided, and when supplying, the supply and delivery of continuous supply signatures to the rear end of the remaining signatures in the stacking part can be performed with a relatively simple mechanism, and the signature's waist is weak. It is possible to prevent misfeeds due to the occurrence of bending of the signatures, etc., and the collapse and disorder of the signature group, which is likely to occur during transportation especially during signature supply, and the signatures can be smoothly supplied into the mounting portion.
