【従来の技術】近年の自動販売機においては、硬貨だけ
でなく紙幣も取り扱い得るものが普及し、そのような自
動販売機には利用客が投入した紙幣の真贋識別を行って
真の紙幣のみを受け入れて収納する機能を有する紙幣識
別機が搭載されている。図3は紙幣識別機を搭載した従
来の自動販売機内を示す部分断面図であって、自動販売
機の接客面である正面板2に設けられた投入口3を介し
て矢印Pの方向に投入された紙幣が、正面板2の内側に
装着されている紙幣識別機1の案内機構11に設けられ
た案内口11aに挿入されるようになっていたために、
自動販売機の接客面側からは紙幣識別機1の所在が目視
できないような構造であった。
【0003】最近、薄形自動販売機の普及に伴って自動
販売機に搭載される紙幣識別機の収納スペースも小型化
の要請が高まってきたが、紙幣の搬送及び識別の操作並
びに紙幣の収納容量などの制約あるいはまた紙幣識別機
及びその構成部材の代替互換性の配慮等々により紙幣識
別機の小型化が一律には実現困難であるため、従来の紙
幣識別機及びその構成部材を用いてその案内機構を自動
販売機の外側に突出あるいは露出させて装着した構造の
ものが多用されている。
【0004】図4は紙幣識別機を搭載した薄形の自動販
売機内を示す部分断面図であって、自動販売機の接客面
である正面板2に設けられた窓4から紙幣識別機1の案
内機構11の部分が外側に突出あるいは露出し、そこに
設けられている案内口11aから矢印Pの方向に紙幣が
挿入されるようになっているために、自動販売機の接客
面側から紙幣識別機1の所在を容易に推知できるような
構造になっている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】紙幣識別機は従来から
合理化設計が行われ、いわゆる軽薄短小の追求の結果標
準化された主要部品として合成樹脂成形品が多用されて
いる。このような部材から構成された紙幣識別機におい
ては、自動販売機本体を構成するフレームやパネルなど
の機械的に強靱な部材で囲まれた内側に紙幣識別機全体
を装着することによって種々の外的条件から紙幣識別機
を保護するようにしていた。
【0006】ところが、前述の薄形自動販売機対応の紙
幣識別機のように紙幣識別機の案内機構の部分を自動販
売機の外側に突出あるいは露出させて装着した場合に
は、設置された自動販売機に対して心ない者が例えばバ
ールのような工具などを用いて案内口及びその周辺を破
壊して紙幣識別機内の収納紙幣を盗み取るとかあるいは
液状物質を案内口から注入するなどの悪戯ができるた
め、器物破損はもとより紙幣盗難の犯罪に結びつく事件
を惹起する恐れがあるという問題点があった。
【0007】この発明は前記の問題点に鑑みてなされた
ものであり、人為的な悪戯による器物破損を防止するこ
とができるとともに、紙幣盗難に対する有効な防衛構造
を有する紙幣識別機を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明によれば前述の
目的は、投入された紙幣を受け入れる案内口を有する案
内機構と、案内口に挿入された紙幣を搬送する搬送機構
と、搬送された紙幣の真贋識別を行う識別機構と、真の
紙幣を受け入れて収納する収納機構と、各機構を作動制
御するための制御機構とを備えてなる紙幣識別機におい
て、案内機構の内部に圧縮変形に耐える形状の保護カバ
ーを配設することにより達成される。
【0009】なお、保護カバーの形状は蒲鉾状をなすこ
とが好ましく、また、保護カバーの材質はばね用のステ
ンレス鋼板からなることが効果的である。上記のように
保護カバーを配設した紙幣識別機においては、例えばバ
ールのような工具などの先端が差し込まれて案内口及び
その周辺が破壊された場合でも、その内部に強靱で弾力
性がありかつ滑らかな表面を有する保護カバーが固定さ
れているため、進入した工具などの先端がその表面上で
滑ってしまうので、その内部にある紙幣の収納機構まで
破壊されることがなく紙幣盗難の防衛ができ、また案内
機構の内部に配設された制御機構の駆動電動機,歯車,
回転軸などの主要な可動部分も保護カバーによって覆わ
れているので、例えば悪戯により注入された液状物質が
その内部に流入することもなく器物破損が防止できる。

【発明の実施の形態】以下この発明の実施の形態につい
て図面を参照して詳細に説明する。図1はこの発明によ
る紙幣識別機の縦断面図である。図1において、紙幣識
別機の構成部材を組み付けるための強固な筐体10の中
に紙幣の識別機構14及び紙幣の収納機構15が配設さ
れ、筐体10の接客面側には駆動電動機,歯車,回転軸
などの主要な可動部分並びにそれらの電気制御制用印刷
配線板などを装着した制御機構12が組み付けられ、そ
の外表面には紙幣の案内口11aが設けられた合成樹脂
製の案内機構11が取付けられ、案内口11aと識別機
構14との間は紙幣の搬送機構13によって連結されて
いる紙幣識別機において、案内機構11の内部で制御機
構12を覆いかつ案内口11aの開口部と収納機構15
との間を遮蔽する位置に保護カバー16が例えば取付ね
じ17などによって筐体10に固定されている。

えてなる紙幣識別機において、案内機構の内部に圧縮変
形に耐える蒲鉾状のばね用のステンレス鋼板からなる保
護カバーを配設することによって、例えばバールのよう
な工具などの先端が差し込まれて案内口及びその周辺が
破壊された場合でも、その内部に強靱で弾力性がありか
つ滑らかな表面を有する保護カバーが固定されているた
め、進入した工具などの先端がその表面上で滑ってしま
うので、その内部にある紙幣の収納機構まで破壊される
ことがなく、また案内機構の内部に配設された制御機構
の駆動電動機,歯車,回転軸などの主要な可動部分も保
護カバーによって覆われているので、液状物質がその内
部に流入することを防止でき、人為的な悪戯による器物
破損の防止が可能となるとともに、紙幣盗難に対する有
