【従来の技術】従来のエアバッグ装置は図8に示す如
く、カバー体10の側壁10aをベースプレートに取り
付けるのに、H字状テアラインの両側交点の両側2ケ所
をリベット11,11で固定していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記従来技術は、取付
点が2点であるため図9乃至図12に示す如くガスを発
生し、その膨脹力によりカバー体10のテアラインを開
裂するとき、カバー体10の側壁10aの2個のリベッ
ト11,11がベースプレートに固定されているので図
10の如く、リベット11,11間の側壁10a取付脚
部が上方に変形し、次いでカバー体10のH字状テアラ
インが開裂し、次いで変形も元に戻るので開裂完了する
迄に変形分だけ時間が長くなり、その結果、エアバッグ
の1次ピーク圧が図13Bの如く高くなり、2次ピーク
圧が低くなり乗務員の拘束力が減少し危険が増大すると
いう問題点があった。

付点を開裂方向に一致させ、カバー体の取付部に変形が
生じないようにして従来の問題点を解決することを目的
としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は上記目的を達成
するため、H字状テアラインを有し常時は折り畳まれた
エアバッグを収納するカバー体と、前記エアバッグのガ
ス流入口を固着するベースプレートとからなるエアバッ
グ装置において、前記H字状テアラインの両側の交点下
方の側壁の直下または近傍に、前記カバー体と前記ベー
スプレートを固着する取付点を1箇所設けたことを特徴
とする。

【実施例】次に図1乃至図7を用いて本発明の一実施例
を説明する。エアバッグ装置はカバー体1とベースプレ
ート2とエアバッグ3とインフレーター4等から構成さ
れている。エアバッグ3はインフレーター4からのガス
流入口の周縁をリベット等でベースプレート2に固着さ
れている。常時は折り畳まれた状態でカバー体1に収納
されており、車が衝突するとインフレーター4からガス
が発生してエアバッグ3に流入し、エアバッグ3のテア
ライン5から開裂してエアバッグ3を展開するようにな
っている。

H字状のテアライン5の両側の交点5aの直下又は近傍
に前記カバー体1と前記ベースプレート2を固着する取
付点6を設け、リベット等で固定している。このように
して組み立てたエアバッグ装置はブラケット7を介して
ステアリングホイールにねじ8で固着されている。

フレーター4からガスがエアバッグ3に流入するとガス
圧でカバー体1上面は図5から図6のように膨らむが、
カバー体1とベースプレート2が開裂方向に一致した取

間が図13Aに示す如く長くすることができ、乗務員の
