【発明の詳細な説明】

【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、熱間圧延設備にお
けるコイルの両端面を加熱するコイル端面加熱装置に関
するものである。
【0002】
【従来の技術】粗圧延後に仕上圧延を行う熱間圧延設備
では、図4(A)に模式的に示すように、粗圧延機で3
0〜50mm厚のバーまで圧延し、次いで仕上圧延機で
更に数mm厚のストリップまで圧延する。この場合、粗
圧延完了後、仕上圧延が完了するまでの時間が長く、バ
ーの後端が先端に比較して低温になり、均一な仕上加工
が困難になる問題点があった。
【0003】そこで、図4(B)に模式的に示すよう
に、粗圧延後のバーをコイル状に巻き取り、それを巻き
戻しながら仕上圧延する方法が既に開示されている(特
公昭51−26317号)。この方法により、バー全体
の冷却を防止し、かつ粗圧延における後端から仕上圧延
するので、バーの先後端の温度差をほぼ同一にすること
ができる。
【0004】しかし、この場合でも、幅方向中央部に比
較して、コイル端部は冷えやすく、そのため幅方向の温
度の均一化が困難な問題点があった。そこで、この問題
を解決するために、コイルを熱シールドパネルで保温
しながら移送する方法(特表平5−503040号)、
コイルの端面を加熱する方法(特開平7−51726
号)などが提案されている。
【0005】図5は特開平7−51726号において提
案されているコイル加熱装置を示す図である。図5に示
すように、コイル1の両端面2,2を複数のLPGバー
ナを備えた加熱装置7で加熱している。なお、加熱装置
7は、位置調節装置8により、コイル幅に従い最適な距
離に移動できるようになっている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかし、上述のコイル
加熱装置のように、バーナとコイル端面との空間が開放
されている場合には、バーナの熱の多くが上方に逃げて
しまい、効率が悪い。
【0007】本発明は、前記課題を解決するために創案
されたものである。すなわち、簡易な構造で効率よくコ
イル端面を加熱することができるコイル端面加熱装置を
提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明によれば、熱間圧
延材を粗圧延した後、芯なしでコイル状に巻き取り、そ
のコイルを巻き戻しながら仕上圧延するライン上で、そ
のコイルの両端面を加熱するコイル端面加熱装置であっ
て、複数のバーナが一体化された加熱パネルと、その加
熱パネルの複数をコイル端面近傍に支持する加熱パネル
支持部材と、からなり、前記加熱パネル支持部材の上端
近傍のバーナが斜め下方を向いている、ことを特徴とす
るコイル端面加熱装置が提供される。
【0009】上述した本発明の構成によれば、前記加熱
パネル支持部材の上端近傍のバーナが斜め下方を向いて
いることにより、下方から上昇する熱風を押し下げて封
じ込み、下方のバーナの熱が上方に逃げるのを抑制する
ことができる。また、複数のバーナを一体化して加熱パ
ネルとし、その加熱パネルを加熱パネル支持部材でコイ
ル端面近傍に支持することにより、前記加熱パネル支持
部材の上端近傍のバーナを容易に斜め下方に向けること
ができる。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明の好ましい実施の形
態を図1から図3を参照して説明する。なお、各図にお
いて従来と共通する部分には同一の符号を付して説明を
省略する。
【0011】図1は本発明のコイル端面加熱装置の断面
図である。図に示すコイル端面加熱装置3は、複数のバ
ーナ4が一体化された加熱パネル5と、その加熱パネル
5の複数をコイル端面2の近傍に支持する加熱パネル支
持部材6と、からなり、加熱パネル支持部材6の上端に
支持されている加熱パネル5のバーナ4が角度θだけ斜
め下方を向いているものである。なお、コイル1は、図
示しない曲げロールや案内ロールなどにより、芯なしで
巻き取りまたは巻き戻しされるものであり、本発明のコ
イル端面加熱装置3は、このコイル1が巻き取りまたは
巻き戻しされるときに使用するものである。
【0012】前記加熱パネル5は耐火物であり、例え
ば、バーナ4を形成することができるようにキャスタブ
ル耐火物などが使用される。また、この加熱パネル5に
は、各バーナ4に燃料を供給するためのヘッダ9が形成
されており、コイル1が巻き取りまたは巻き戻しされる
と、図示しない燃料供給管からヘッダ9を介してバーナ
4に燃焼ガスが送り込まれて点火されるようになってい
る。なお、加熱パネル支持部材6の上端に支持されてい
る加熱パネル5のバーナ4の角度θは、コイル1の大き
さ、コイル端面加熱装置3に設置されるバーナ4の数や
加熱温度などの条件により異なる。
【0013】前記加熱パネル支持部材6は、図示しない
位置調節装置に接続されており、複数のバーナ4を備え
た加熱パネル5をコイル端面2の近傍に支持している。
なお、図では片側しか図示していないが、上述したコイ
ル端面加熱装置3はコイル1の両端面に設けられてい
る。
【0014】上述した本発明のコイル端面加熱装置3に
よれば、コイル1が巻き取りまたは巻き戻しされると、
バーナ4に燃焼ガスが送り込まれて点火され、コイル端
面2を加熱する。図示するようにコイル端面2の全面を
加熱するようにしているため、コイル端面2の均熱化が
図られる。また、バーナ4とコイル端面2との間の空間
が開放されているため、放出されるバーナ4の熱は上に
逃げようとするが、加熱パネル支持部材6の上端の加熱
パネル5のバーナ4が斜め下方を向いているため、上に
逃げようとする熱を封じ込める働きをする。したがっ
て、短時間で効率よくコイル端面2を加熱することがで
きる。
【0015】また、図2に示すように、加熱パネル5の
一部のバーナ4のみが角度θだけ斜め下方を向くように
してもよいし、図3に示すように、バーナ4が角度θだ
け斜め下方を向いている加熱パネル5を複数設けるよう
にしてもよい。さらに、図示しないが、バーナ4を水平
に設けた加熱パネル5を、角度θだけ斜め下方を向くよ
うに、加熱パネル支持部材6に固定してもよい。
【0016】本発明のコイル端面加熱装置3は、バーナ
4とコイル1との間の空間が開放されていることによる
加熱効率の低下を抑制することを目的としているため、
上端部のみならず、外周部のバーナ4を内向きにして設
けるようにしてもよい。
【0017】なお、本発明は上述した実施の形態に限定
されず、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々変更でき
ることは勿論である。

【発明の効果】上述した本発明のコイル端面加熱装置に
よれば、加熱パネル支持部材の上端近傍のバーナが斜め
下方を向いているため、下方から上昇する熱風を押し下
げて封じ込み、熱が上方に逃げようとするのを抑制する
ことができる。したがって、短時間で効率よくコイル端
面を加熱することができ、コイル端面からの放熱を抑制
することができ、コイルの幅方向の温度の均一化を図る
ことができる。また、コイル端面の全面を加熱するよう
にしているため、コイル端面の均熱化も図ることができ
る。さらに、複数のバーナを一体化して加熱パネルと
し、その加熱パネルを加熱パネル支持部材でコイル端面
近傍に支持することにより、加熱パネル支持部材の上端
近傍のバーナを容易に斜め下方に向けることができ、簡
易な構造で効率よくコイル端面を加熱することができ
