2. Description of the Related Art An exposed photosensitive material is processed by a photosensitive material processing apparatus such as an automatic developing apparatus, which is sequentially dipped in a processing solution such as a developing solution, a fixing solution and washing water. In such an automatic developing device, there is an automatic developing device in which a pair of rollers is provided inside the processing tank for storing the processing liquid and between the processing tanks adjacent to each other so as to convey the photosensitive material. In order to reduce the amount of the processing solution in the upstream processing tank mixed with the processing solution in the downstream processing tank when the photosensitive material is delivered to the processing tank on the other side, it is attached to the photosensitive material by the roller pair arranged outside the processing solution. Generally, a pair of squeezing rollers and a pair of rollers that nips and conveys the photosensitive material for introduction into the processing liquid in the downstream processing tank are used together.

However, when such a structure is used, the processing liquid in the upstream processing tank adheres to the photosensitive material conveyed between the processing tanks adjacent to each other even after passing through the pair of squeezing rollers. Therefore, the photosensitive material is in an unstable processing state until the processing on the downstream side starts. For this reason, one roller of the roller pair arranged to introduce the photosensitive material into the processing liquid in the processing tank is arranged above the surface of the processing liquid, and the other roller is arranged so as to come into contact with the processing liquid. By adopting a structure in which the other liquid is pumped up and applied to the peripheral surface of the roller, the processing by the processing liquid in the downstream processing tank is started as early and clear as possible to shorten the unstable time of the processing state. At the same time, quick processing is possible.

By the way, as described above, on the surface of the photosensitive material fed from the developing tank to the fixing tank, the developer taken out of the developing tank is completely removed even if it passes through the pair of squeezing rollers due to the limitation of the driving system. It cannot be removed and a considerable amount is attached. When this developing solution enters the fixing solution containing silver ions eluted from the surface of the photosensitive material, the silver ions in the fixing solution are reduced, and the tank wall of the fixing tank and the peripheral surface of the roller to which the fixing solution adheres. There is a possibility that silver may be deposited on the surface and cause silver stain. Further, if the deposited silver adheres to the surface of the photosensitive material, it will impair the finish of the photosensitive material.

In the conventional photosensitive material processing apparatus, in order to maintain the capacity of the fixing solution, the replenishing solution is replenished to the fixing tank according to the processing amount of the photosensitive material. Therefore, the silver ion concentration of the fixing solution in the fixing tank is changed. Since it can be kept low, there was almost no problem of silver ion precipitation.

However, in recent years,
There is a tendency to reduce the amount of waste liquid by reducing the replenishment amount of the processing liquid for environmental protection. In general, a fixing solution makes silver halide of a light-sensitive material which has not been developed by a developing solution into a water-soluble complex ion. However, if the replenishing amount of the fixing solution is reduced, the concentration of silver ion (complex ion) in the fixing solution is reduced. Will rise. When the developing solution is brought in together with the light-sensitive material, the silver ions in the fixing solution are reduced and deposited as metallic silver.

That is, when the pair of rollers for introducing the photosensitive material which has been developed by the developing solution into the fixing solution in the fixing tank is in contact with the fixing solution, when the photosensitive material to which the developing solution adheres is nipped and conveyed, Silver will be deposited on the peripheral surface of the roller pair. Especially, since one roller of the roller pair is not in direct contact with the fixing liquid, the fixing liquid is supplied to the surface of the roller via the other roller before the photosensitive material is nipped and conveyed. When the conveyance starts, the supply of the fixing solution is stopped, and therefore the developing solution supplied from the photosensitive material is accumulated on the surface of the roller, so that when the photosensitive material finishes passing, the developing solution ratio becomes close to 60%. The silver ions in the fixer will be reduced to silver on the surface of. In particular, in an apparatus for processing while conveying a light-sensitive material with the emulsion surface facing upward in relation to the exposure apparatus, the emulsion surface is faced with the one roller not in contact with the fixing solution. The silver halide inside is dissolved in the fixer,
Since the silver ion concentration increases as the photosensitive material is conveyed, the amount of reduced silver also increases.

According to the invention described in claim 1, it is arranged to introduce the photosensitive material developed by the developing solution in the developing tank into the fixing solution in the fixing tank, and one roller is above the surface of the fixing solution. A fixing solution component (for example, a stock solution of the fixing solution) is supplied to the pair of rollers or the fixing solution in the vicinity thereof from a supply mechanism. As a result, even if the developer carried in by the photosensitive material from the upstream developing tank adheres to the peripheral surface of the roller pair, the ratio of the fixing solution to the developer on the peripheral surface of the roller pair decreases. It can be prevented.

Thus, the concentration of the fixing solution component on the peripheral surface of the rollers forming the roller pair can be kept high despite the increase in the amount of the developing solution attached to the photosensitive material and supplied. There is no silver stain on the peripheral surface of the sheet, and it is possible to prevent the finish quality of the photosensitive material from being deteriorated by the silver stain. Further, it is possible to greatly extend the maintenance cycle such as frequent cleaning of the device for removing silver stains.

Of the roller pair, the roller in contact with the fixer (the other roller) is always washed with the fixer,
Since fresh fixer is supplied to the surface, silver precipitation is unlikely to occur. On the other hand, when the photosensitive material is nipped, the fixing liquid is no longer supplied from the fixing tank to the roller above the fixing liquid surface, but the fixing liquid component is supplied from the supply mechanism. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the deposition of silver on the peripheral surface of the roller.

In a mode in which a concentrated fixer component (for example, replenishing stock solution before dilution) is supplied to the peripheral surface of the roller on the side of the roller pair which is in contact with the fixer, local development is performed only on the peripheral surface of the roller pair. It is possible to more completely prevent the precipitation of silver by increasing the ratio of the fixing solution component to the solution component.

According to the second aspect of the invention, the fixer component to be replenished is supplied to the one roller of the roller pair. This makes it possible to reduce the ratio of the developing solution to the fixing solution on the peripheral surface of the roller (one roller) that is not in contact with the fixing solution among the rollers of the roller pair. For example, by supplying the replenishing stock solution before dilution to the peripheral surface of the roller pair by the replenishing mechanism, the ratio of the substantial fixing solution to the developing solution can be greatly increased more effectively. This mechanism is particularly suitable for the case where the photosensitive material is sandwiched and conveyed such that silver stains are likely to occur and the emulsion surface side of the photosensitive material is in contact with the roller of the roller pair which is not in contact with the fixing solution. Is effective in.

According to the third aspect of the present invention, at least the roller pair is supplied by supplying the fixer component, for example, a fixed amount to the roller pair only when necessary, on the assumption that the replenishment amount of the fixer is reduced. While the photosensitive material is being conveyed, it is possible to prevent the silver stain by holding a sufficient amount of the fixing solution component on the roller surface and increasing the ratio of the fixing solution to the developing solution. Moreover, the concentration of the fixing solution in the fixing tank can be maintained within a predetermined range.

According to the fourth aspect of the invention, the peripheral surface of the roller of the roller pair arranged above the fixing liquid surface is made water repellent, and the peripheral surface of the roller in contact with the fixing liquid is formed. Improves hydrophilicity. As a result, the amount of the developing solution that adheres to the peripheral surface of the upper roller can be suppressed, and the rotation of the roller that is in contact with the fixing solution effectively pumps up to the contact position of both rollers that make up the roller pair. The ratio of the fixing liquid to the developing liquid can be increased by using the fixing liquid, and silver stains on the peripheral surface of the roller pair can be prevented.

On the other hand, when the roller pair 60 is rotated, since a part of the roller 62 is in contact with the fixing solution, the fixing solution is pumped up by the peripheral surface of the roller 62, and the fixing solution is also collected on the peripheral surface of the roller 64. Adhere to. Therefore, when the sheet film 12 is sandwiched by the roller pair 60, the fixing solution is supplied to both sides of the sheet film 12, so that the fixing process is started, but the fixing solution and the sheet film 12 carry out the fixing process. The developer easily causes silver stains on the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60, particularly on the peripheral surface of the roller 64 that contacts the photosensitive surface of the sheet film 12. The reason is as follows.

When the emulsion layer on the upper surface of the sheet film 12 is brought into contact with the fixing liquid which is drawn up by the roller 62 and adhered to the peripheral surface of the roller 64, this small amount of the fixing liquid is transferred to the developing tank 22.
Sheet film 12 by converting the silver halide in the region left unreduced to silver in the developing solution described above into silver complex ions soluble in water
Elute on the surface of. Since the developer is attached to the surface of the sheet film 12, the developer is accumulated near the peripheral surface of the upper roller 64 as the sheet film 12 is conveyed,
The eluted silver ions are reduced to silver and deposited on the roller pair 60, particularly on the peripheral surface of the upper roller 64 in contact with the emulsion surface. Since the peripheral surface of the lower roller 62 is always washed with the fixing liquid, the adhesion of silver is small.

Here, the replenishing mechanism 68 of the automatic developing apparatus 10 of this embodiment replenishes the replenishing stock solution and the diluting water to the fixing tank 24 in accordance with the processing amount of the sheet film 12. Is supplied to the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60 from a nozzle 78 provided above the roller pair 60. The supply of the replenishing stock solution is performed in a fixed amount immediately before the sheet film 12 is sandwiched by the roller pair 60. The replenishing stock solution supplied to the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60 wets the rotating roller 62 and the roller 64, and the surplus is fixed in the fixing tank 2.
It falls into 4.

At this time, the supplementary stock solution adheres to the peripheral surface of the upper roller 64 and is supplied to the upper surface of the sheet film 12 (above the emulsion layer) to some extent, so that it is sandwiched between the peripheral surface of the roller 64 and the roller 64. The ratio of the substantial fixing liquid to the developing liquid on the sheet film 12 is increased. As a result, in the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60, especially the upper roller 64,
It is possible to prevent silver stain caused by a decrease in the ratio of the fixer to the developer.

That is, when the processing of the sheet film 12 progresses, the developing solution carried out from the developing tank 22 by the sheet film 12 is surrounded by the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60 of the fixing tank 24, particularly the upper roller not immersed in the fixing solution. In the structure of the prior art in which the toner adheres to and accumulates on the peripheral surface of 64, when the concentration of the fixing solution becomes lower than the concentration ratio of the developing solution to the fixing solution of 8: 2, silver stains appear on the peripheral surface of the roller 64. .

On the other hand, in the automatic developing device 10, even if a large amount of the sheet film 12 is processed by supplying the replenishing stock solution having a high concentration of the fixer component to the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60 of the fixing tank 24, the roller is processed. The decrease in the ratio of the component in the fixing solution to the component in the developing solution on the peripheral surface of the pair 60 is suppressed.

As described above, by preventing the ratio of the fixing solution to the developing solution adhering to the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60 from decreasing, it is possible to prevent silver contamination from occurring on the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60. Therefore, silver stains generated on the circumferential surface of the roller pair 60 do not adhere to the surface of the newly processed sheet film 12 and impair the finish of the sheet film 12. Moreover, it is not necessary to frequently perform maintenance such as cleaning for removing silver stains in the fixing tank 24.

The operation of the replenishing mechanism 68 for preventing the silver stain as described above can raise the concentration of the fixing solution higher than the concentration ratio of the developing solution to the fixing solution of 6: 4 on the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60. It is preferable to set the concentration of the fixing solution to be higher than 8: 2 even when the ratio of the fixing solution to the developing solution is the lowest. However, a fixed amount of the fixing solution is set in accordance with the conveyance timing of the sheet film 12. It is preferable to supply the concentrated replenishing solution having a high concentration of the components directly to the peripheral surface of the roller pair 60.
