【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は魚釣用リールの制動
力調節装置における調節操作ツマミの形状に関するもの
である。

【従来の技術】リール本体の側板間に回動自在に支持し
たスプールに制動力を付与する制動装置の調節操作ツマ
ミをハンドル軸上に備えた魚釣用リールは、実開昭63
―107174号、実公昭61―18682号公報に見
られるように従来より一般的に知られている。そして、
調節操作ツマミは、複数の腕部が所定の間隔をおいて夫
々放射方向に延設されている。ところで、この制動装置
における制動力を調節するときは、ハンドルを保持した
手の親指や人差し指により、調節操作ツマミを緩める方
向に回転したり、締め付ける方向に回転させてスプール
を制動力を弱くしたり、強くしたりして、魚に対応した
やりとりを行うものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、調節操
作ツマミの腕部は厚さ(ハンドル軸方向の寸法)が均一
な板状をしているため、指で回転操作する際に指が痛く
なり、快適な釣を行うことができなかった。また、この
種の腕部は周方向に膨大する膨大部が形成されているた
め、回転操作時に指が引っ掛かる状態となり、スムース
で迅速な回転操作を行うことができないといった課題を
残していた。
【0004】本発明は、上記従来技術の課題に着目して
提案されたもので、回転操作時において指に痛みを与え
ることなく、しかも、ハンドルを保持した状態において
もスムースに回転操作の行うことのできる魚釣用リール
の制動力調節装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、上記目的を達
成するため、リール本体の側板間に回転自在に支持した
スプールを巻取り駆動する駆動歯車を前記側板に設けた
ハンドル軸に回転自在に支持すると共に、該駆動歯車に
係合する制動板を前記ハンドル軸上に進退自在に螺合さ
れた調節操作ツマミで押圧することによって前記駆動歯
車を前記ハンドル軸に摩擦結合した魚釣用リールの制動
力調節装置において、前記調節操作ツマミの基部から放
射方向に複数延設された腕部の盤面形状を基部から先端
部にかけて中心線に対して左右対称形状となる先細状の
星形に形成すると共に、該腕部のハンドル軸方向の肉厚
を基部から先端部に向けて漸次厚肉状に形成したことを
特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、添付の図面を参照して本発
明の実施の形態を説明する。図1〜図3は本発明の実施
の形態における魚釣用リールの制動力調節装置を適用し
た両軸受リールを示すもので、リール本体の側板1a,
1b間にはスプール3が回転自在に支持されている。
【0008】スプール3のスプール軸3a係合したピニ
オン3bには駆動歯車4が噛合し、また、この駆動歯車
4はハンドルHを一体的に取付けたハンドル軸5と一体
回転するように関連づけられている。駆動歯車4の外側
にはハンドル軸5を通過させるように配置された複数の
制動板7が設けられており、制動板7の外側には押圧部
材8が介装されている。
【0009】ハンドル軸5の先端側であって、ハンドル
Hの固定取付部の内方には、押圧部材8を押圧可能な制
動力調節装置の調節操作ツマミ9が介装されている。こ
の調節操作ツマミ9は星形の形状をしており、中央のボ
ス部9aの中心には、ハンドル軸5の外周に形成された
雄ネジ部に螺合するネジ孔9bが形成されている。ボス
部9aからは所定の角度の間隔をおいて放射方向に複数
の中心線Pに対し左右対称形状とした腕部9cが延設さ
れている。腕部9cは、図2及び図3に示すように、盤
面形状がボス部9a側から先端に向けて収斂するような
先細り形状をしている。
【0010】調節操作ツマミ9の肉厚形状(ハンドル軸
方向の形状)は、図1に示すように、操作時に指が掛か
る部分(図2参照)である先端が肉厚の形状となってい
る。なお、図2において、参照番号F1は親指、F2は
人差し指であり、R1は親指F1の操作で制動力を弱く
するための調節操作ツマミ9の回転方向を示しており、
R2はこれとは逆に人差し指F2の操作で制動力を強く
する方向への回転方向である。なお、図1に示す実施の
形態においては、腕部9cの基部から先端に向けて漸次
肉厚となるように構成しているが、本発明はこれに限定
されるものではなく、腕部9cの基部から先端に掛けて
均一な肉厚となっていても良いものである。また、添付
の図面に示した調節操作ツマミ9は5本の腕部9cを有
するものとしたが、これに限定されるものではなく、他
の本数のものであっても良い。さらに、制動板8や押圧
板9などを含んだ制動装置は図示のものに限定されるも
のでないことはいうまでもない。

【発明の効果】本発明によれば、制動力調節装置の調節
操作ツマミの腕部の盤面形状を基部から先端部にかけて
中心線に対して左右対称となる先細状の星形に形成する
と共にハンドル軸方向の肉厚を基部から先端部に向けて
漸次厚肉状に形成されているので、ハンドルを保持した
状態で親指の操作で制動力を弱くしたり、人差し指の操
作で制動力を強くしたり等の操作時に腕部に指が引掛か
ることなく、スムースに回転操作することができ、釣場
の状況や魚の種類に応じて迅速な制動力の調節を行うこ
とができる。また、腕部の先端部が肉厚に形成されてい
るため、操作時に調節操作ツマミが指に食い込んで痛み
を生じさせることなく、快適な釣りを楽しむことが可能
