比較的に長尺のワイヤーを使用する一般のワイヤー錠と異なり、短くて太いワイヤーを用いている二輪車用ワイヤー錠は、非使用時に格納されることなく、ワイヤー錠を車体の適宜位置例えば荷台に巻回して施錠状態に輪にして吊り下げたままでバイクを走らせるように使用されることが多い。

上記のようにして用いられるこの種のワイヤー錠は、一般のワイヤー錠と異なり頑丈で重量が嵩むので、走行中の振動などによって金属製の錠本体が車体に当たって傷をつけ易いという欠点があった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
以上のことから本発明が解決しようとする課題は、非使用時に車体に取り付けたままでバイクを走らせる場合に車体を傷つけ難くするようにした二輪車用ワイヤー錠を開発することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の課題を解決する手段として本発明は、一方の端部にフレキシブルロッドの固定端を装着し、側面に上記ロッドの先端に具えた施錠杆を挿入する施錠孔を開口し、他端面に鍵穴を備えた錠機構の先端部を臨出させた錠本体に、適宜の厚さを具えて錠本体の外周に沿う有底の筒形にエラストマーで成形されたカバーを弾性的に嵌着し、被せたカバーの先端の開口部を、上記フレキシブルロッドの固定端側に偏らせて錠本体に設けた段部に当接させ、側面に具えた開口部を、錠本体の側面に一体形成した凸条に嵌着させ、同じく側面に具えた短円筒形の嵌合部を、上記錠本体の施錠孔に合致させるとともに、有底の端面に具えた開口部から、錠本体の錠機構の先端部とともに鍵穴を臨出させるようにして上記錠本体を弾性的なカバーで被包したことを特徴とする二輪車用ワイヤー錠を提供するものである。

上記のように構成した本発明によれば、ワイヤー部分を車体に巻回させて吊り下げ状態になる錠本体が、施錠孔を覆う短円筒形の嵌合部とともに、外周の大部分を弾性的なカバーで被覆されるので、前述のようにバイクにワイヤー錠を取り付けたままで走行させても振動による衝突とか擦過がカバーに緩衝されて車体を傷つけ難くする。

また、適宜の肉厚を有するカバーを弾性的に拡開させつつ錠本体に被着させるので、カバーの取付けにそれほど手数を要さず、労力も少なくて済む、側面の開口部と凸条との嵌着によって、長さ方向にも円周方向にも十分に被着状態が固定され、耐久性にも富むなどの利点がある。
さらに、有底のカバーの端面の開口部に鍵穴を臨出させているので、カバーの被着によっても開錠操作が妨げられることもない。

カバー7は、ゴムなどのエラストマーを素材として成形されて錠本体1に弾性的に嵌着し、先端の開口部8を、上記フレキシブルロッド2の固定端側に偏らせて錠本体1に設けた段部9に当接させ、左右の側面に具えた開口部10を、錠本体1の側面に一体形成した左右一対の凸条11に嵌着させ、同じく側面に具えた短円筒形の嵌合部12を、錠本体1の図示下側面に具えた施錠孔3に合致させるとともに、有底の端面13に具えた開口部14から、錠本体1に内蔵された上記施錠機構5の先端部と鍵穴6を臨出させるようにして、錠本体1を弾性的に被包する。
なお図中、16は本ワイヤー錠のキーで、施錠時には携行可能に鍵穴6から抜き出すことができる。

上記カバー7は、錠本体への被着時にそれほど力を要さずに嵌着できる程度の弾性を有し、段部9と同程度の肉厚を具えることによって錠本体1の外周面とぼぼ面一にして側面に引っ掛かりを生じないようにすることが望ましい。
また、錠本体1の側面に形成する凸条11は、左右一対備えられているが、本発明の実施に際し、例えば適宜の位置に1個所設ける場合もある。いずれにしても、被着したカバー7の回り止めと長さ方向のずれを防ぐためのものであるから、その形状は図示の態様に限られるものでない。また、実施例では錠本体1の施錠孔3の周りを滑面にしているので凸条11がカバー側の嵌合部12と施錠孔3のずれを防止するように作用するが、同孔3の周りに凸条を形成して嵌合位置の整合と回り止めとを兼ねさせるようにしてもよい。

また、実施例では錠本体の端部を開放して施錠機構5の先端部とその支承部15が、カバー7を被着していない状態では露呈する構造になっているが、有底のカバー7を被せることによって覆われるので錠の使用には支障しない。また、施錠機構5の先端部は錠本体1の開口部で一方に偏って備えられているが、中央部に備えた鍵穴6を同位置に設けた開口部に臨出させる場合もある。なお、カバー7の被着長さをどこまでにするかなどは、本発明の要旨に沿い、かつ、被着すべき錠本体1の外形形状に応じて適宜に設計変更される。

前記のように構成し、上記のように用いられるようにした本発明二輪車用ワイヤー錠は、前述のように、非使用時に、ワイヤー部分を車体に巻回させて吊り下げ状態になる錠本体の大部分が弾性的なカバーにより被覆される。また、施錠孔に施錠されて器体外に突出する金属製の施錠杆の周りも、弾性的な短円筒形の嵌合部によって覆われる。そのために、走行中の振動等によって錠本体が車体に衝突したり擦過した場合の衝撃が緩衝されて、車体を傷つけることがないワイヤー錠の使用ができるという優れた効果がある。
