一般にガス給湯器においては、機器の小型化の要請から主として高負荷化が追求されてきたが、近年は住環境改善の立場から低騒音化あるいは省エネルギー化の要請も強い。しかし高負荷化のためには短炎化によって燃焼室を小型化する必要があるが、これは一方では高騒音化や熱効率低下につながるために、これらを両立させることは容易ではない。そこで従来のガス給湯器では、熱効率及び騒音値が一定の許容値を超えない範囲で、常に最大の給湯性能が発揮されるように設計されており、使用者には選択の余地がなかった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
図3(a)は、従来の自動温度調節機能付きガス給湯器の制御例を示したもので、出湯温度及び出湯量が自動又は手動で設定され、あるインプット(燃料供給量)が選択されると、マイコン式制御装置によって空気過剰率(燃焼空気供給ファンの回転数)が自動的に調整され、熱効率が常に一定(約80%)となるように燃焼が制御されるようになっており、この熱効率は使用者が自由に選択することはできない。しかしこの従来構成は、例えば浴槽の「自動湯はり」が最短時間で行われ、またシャワーも最大出湯量で使用することができるという利点がある反面、使用者がそれほど急がなくてもよい場合にも、「省エネ」運転で燃料を節約することができず、また深夜に風呂を沸かしたい場合にも、低騒音運転をすることができないという問題があった。本発明は、使用者が特に「高速給湯」を希望しない場合には、もっと熱効率が高く低騒音の運転が可能であるという点に着目して、その運転モードを使用者が選択できるようなガス給湯器を提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明によるガス給湯器は、図1〜2に示すように、燃料制御弁1と燃焼空気供給ファン2を制御するマイコン式制御装置3を備えたガス給湯器において、上記制御装置3における燃焼制御プログラムとして、燃料供給量の変化に応じて熱効率が一定となるように燃焼空気送風機による空気供給量を制御する高負荷燃焼モードと、燃料供給量の変化に応じて熱効率が一定となるように燃焼空気送風機による空気供給量を制御する高負荷燃焼モードと、高負荷燃焼モード時に比べて空気比を下げることによってガス給湯器の給湯能力の限界付近以外では熱効率を高負荷燃焼モード時よりも高効率とする省エネルギー燃焼モードを準備すると共に、給湯器の操作盤4に両モードを選択する選択スイッチ5を設けたものであり、1台の機器により高負荷化と低騒音化乃至省エネルギー化の両方の要請に応え得る点に特徴を有するものである。

使用者が「高速湯はり」等の高負荷燃焼を希望する場合には、操作盤4の選択スイッチ5で「通常モード」を選択すればよく、「省エネ運転」あるいは「低騒音運転」を希望する場合には「省エネモード」を選択すればよい。このとき制御装置3は選択されたモードによって、「通常モード」では図3(a)に示すように、一定の熱効率(約80%)を維持するように空気過剰率を調整し、「省エネモード」では同図(b)に示すように、例えば低インプット時には85%、最高インプット時には80%の効率を維持するように、空気過剰率を調整する。

本発明によれば上述のように、ガス給湯器の運転モードを2種類設けて使用者の選択に委ねることにより、1台の機器では従来達成できなかった高出力運転と高効率運転を行わせることができ、使用者が特に高出力出湯や「高速湯はり」を希望しない場合には、「省エネモード」を選択することによって燃料を節約することができる上に、深夜には低騒音運転を選択できるので、住環境の改善にもきよすることができるという利点がある。
