【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、押出成形にて中空に形成された車体のセンタピラー或いはリアピラーに対するシートベルトアンカの取付方法に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、車体のセンタピラーは、板金のプレス成形にて箱形の閉断面に形成されているが、この閉断面部分にシートベルトアンカを設ける場合、アンカナットに加わる応力が集中してセンタピラーのアンカナット取付部が変形することを防止する必要がある。そのために、センタピラーとの接触面積を大きくするための補強用ブラケットをアンカナットの取付部に介在させて応力が分散するように構成することが一般的である。

ところで、プレス成形品の組み合わせで閉断面を得る構造の場合は、一方の半体の内面にアンカナットと共にブラケットを予め溶接しておき、これに他方の半体を被せるように合わせて両者の接合端縁をスポット溶接することができる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかるに、この手法は、元来が閉断面に一体成形される押出成形品には適用し得ないため、押出成形品の場合は、アンカナットを外面に溶接しなければならなかった。しかしながらアンカナットを外面に設けると、ブラケットを内面に当てたように互いの当接面にて応力を分散させることができないので、補強効率を高めることが困難にならざるを得なかった。

本発明は、このような従来技術に課せられた問題点、即ち、押出成形にて形成された中空部材に対するシートベルトアンカの取付部の補強効率を高め難い点を改善することを目的に案出されたものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
このような目的を果たすために、本発明に於いては、アンカナットを予め固着したブラケットを中空の車体フレーム構成部材の端部の開放面から該中空部材内に投入し、該中空部材の軸線に直交する向きに該中空部材内に突入するように設けた突起に衝当させることをもって該中空部材内を移動するブラケットの位置決めを行うようにした。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に添付の図面を参照して本発明の構成について詳細に説明する。

図1〜図3は、本発明が適用されたセンタピラーの要部を示している。このセンタピラー1は、例えばアルミニウム等の軽金属材料の押出成形にて中空に形成されており、公知の車体構造と同様に、サイドシル及びルーフサイドレール間(図示せず)を連結するように上下方向に延設されている。

センタピラー1の車室側の外面には、シートベルトのショルダスルーリング2が、アンカボルト3をもって止め付けられている。このアンカボルト3は、中空に形成されたセンタピラー1の車室側の壁の内面に固定されたアンカナット4に螺合している。

さて、一般的なナットの外径寸法は、螺合するボルト径の2倍程度であり、アンカボルトに加わるシートベルトの荷重をアンカナットのセンタピラーとの当接面のみで受けると、センタピラーのナット取付部の面圧が過大になり、同部分が変形し易くなってしまう。応力を分散させるには、アンカナットのセンタピラーに対する接触面積を大きくするための補強用ブラケットをアンカナットの取付部に介在させる必要がある。ところが、押出成形による中空材の場合は、このような補強用ブラケットをセンタピラーの内側に予め固定しておくことは実質的に不可能である。

そこで本発明に於いては、断面形状がコ字形をなすブラケット5の溝形内面にアンカナット4を予め溶接しておき、これを押出成形されたセンタピラー1の中空閉断面内に上部開放面から投入するものとした。

アンカナット4が溶接されたブラケット5は、センタピラー1の閉断面内を落下し、ブラケット5の締結位置に合わせて閉断面内に突入させた位置決めピン6に突き当たって止まる。なお、位置決めピン6は、センタピラー1の内面にブラケット5が固定された後に引き抜く。ここでブラケット5の端部には、V字形の切欠7が形成されており、これによってセンタピラー1の中心とブラケット5の中心とが互いに整合するようになっている。

センタピラー1には、タッピングスクリューを緩く挿通する孔8(ばか孔)が予め開けてある。他方、ブラケット5には、タッピングスクリュー用下孔9が予め開けてある。これらの位置は、位置決めピン6に衝当してブラケット5が停止した際に互いに整合するようになっているので、タッピングスクリュー10をセンタピラー1内にばか孔8から挿入すると、ブラケット5の下孔9にタッピングスクリュー10を螺着することができる。そして、ブラケット5の下孔9にタッピングスクリュー10をねじ込むと、センタピラー1の内面にブラケット5が引き寄せられ、かつ密接する。

これにより、アンカナット4に螺着したアンカボルト3に加わる荷重は、センタピラー1の室内側の壁の内面に当接したブラケット5の全面に作用して分散することとなる。

センタピラー1の閉断面内にブラケット5を位置決めする手段としては、図4に示すように、センタピラー1の適所に切り込みを施し、その部分を内向きに曲げて突起11を設けるようにしても良い。またブラケット5をセンタピラー1の内面に固定する方法としては、アンカボルト3のみの締結力に依存する方法でも良いし、例えばセンタピラー1の適所に適宜な貫通孔を設けておき、この孔から覗くブラケット5の面と孔の内周縁とをMIG溶接して固定する方法を併用しても良い。

【発明の効果】
このように本発明によれば、押出成形品の閉断面内にシートベルトアンカーを容易に設けることができる。特に押出成形品の閉断面をそのまま補強用ブラケットの挿入ガイドとして利用できるので、労せずにブラケットの取付方向を一定にでき、作業の容易化が図れる。またブラケットの固定はタッピングスクリューで行えるので、製造設備を大幅に変更せずに済む。
